[Ada's always liked Elliot's talent with the piano. Telling him outright usually resulted in flushed, furious outbursts - so Ada learned not to say anything. She never quite learned to stop enjoying it, though, so when she hears him from down the hall, of course she starts toward the music room. Of course she cracks open the door just a touch. Only enough to peek through and hear a little better.

This is different from what she's heard filtering through the mansion's halls lately - less raw emotion, more lighthearted. She didn't get much sleep the previous night thanks to Vincent, so - maybe that's why she opens the door a little more, silent and trying not to interrupt.

But the hinges creak.]

[Over the calming music, Elliot heard that small creak. It was enough for him to stop playing and look up from the music sheet. He couldn't say he was displeased with someone coming in to listen to him play-- but who it was..

That was a different story.

Seeing her through the crack made through the door, he gave an annoyed groan before looking off. She wasn't necessarily someone he'd enjoy talking to but he came a long way to forgetting the hate he once held for her last name.

That didn't mean he wanted to talk to her this moment.]

What do you want, Miss Ada?

Oh-!

[Whoops. Ada freezes into place, fidgeting a moment - should she leave? Should she try to start a conversation? He's a good person, she's known that for a long time, but she only really ever seems to annoy him.

Ada remembers the time Leo showed her Elliot's secret love of cats and grows a little braver.]

I'm sorry - I didn't mean to eavesdrop. [She steps inside, uninvited, but doesn't close the door behind her.] Um...I-I think I left a book in here by accident.

[Well, you know. She might really have.]

[He's brushing off anything she has to say, staring at the keys before standing. He'll step over the bench before looking back at the Vessalius-- there's no point in playing anymore when she's here.

But he'll try not to be bothered with her presence.]

If you left a book here, I haven't seen it. Do you remember the name of said book?
