And of course, Alex was concerned. He'd expected to hear from Cross immediately, and when that didn't happen, he panicked. Not in the typical way people panic, but in that subdued way, the way that brought only anger and a feeling of needing to do something. So he left his apartment after the 10th missed call and went out into the city. Searching for Cross by viral detection.

Fortunately he wasn't far. Alex raced to his apartment, knocking twice. Waiting for some second before he simply slammed the door open. He'd have to replace the lock - or Cross would - but he didn't have time to sit around and wait.

Noting the captain on the couch, he shut the broken door behind him and quickly headed over.

"Cross!"

His NV had been going off quite a bit as he ventured home, but Cross was in such a dazed state that he didn't notice it. And even now, as Alex pounded on--and subsequently busted open--his door, Cross barely noticed. Barely a stir from him, until Alex actually shouted his name.

He jerked on the couch, but not enough to actually get him into sitting up. Just a slight lift of his head. Everything was still too blurry. He squinted up at Alex, thought--very hard--for a moment...

...and then grinned.

"Hey, Alex," He started, already sounding distant and obviously drugged. As if that stupid grin on his face wasn't indication enough.

Alex failed to see what was good about this situation at all, so at Cross' smile he only shot him a dangerous look. Something was wrong with him. Suddenly he was reminded of his own venture into SERO, being tossed out and slightly drugged afterward. It was just like this, except Cross had either been given a much higher dose or Alex had been able to handle it easier.

He blinked some of his glare away, trying to talk to Cross as if he weren't fucked up on the couch.

"So? What happened?"

Fact of the matter was that Cross probably did get pumped full of far more drugs than Alex had for whatever SERO did to him. And even if Alex was obviously angry or upset over it, Cross didn't seem to register it just yet.

He struggled to sit up, all of his limbs feeling far heavier than they should have. Right, Alex asked him a question.

"Uh..." Well, he was off to a great start here. He finally managed to at least sit up, reclining on his elbows. "...A lot of shit... pumped me full of.. drugs. That sucker was out in no time." Well, it felt like no time. Really it was over a course of hours.
