Remy had always been a thief. Growing up in the Thieves Guild didn't give many other options. He preferred bigger heists to this, however. He had a proper job here. He could afford basic supplies, and that made this errand seem a little unnecessary. But he followed Jubilee because she wanted to do this. There was no chance he was going to entertain the possibility of getting caught over this.

"Just keep it down, petite, an' Remy'll get you whatever you need." Not that he wanted to insult her thieving skills. She'd been at this a while before he'd arrived and before they'd met, and had to have a good idea of what she was doing. Still, he kept imagining he was doing this with a child of thirteen. (Not that thirteen year-olds couldn't make good thieves - he'd been excellent at that age himself - but their backgrounds were completely different.)

He really did hope she had something bigger in mind after this.

Jubilee just smirked at the Cajun. She began going through for supplies. After all that was what they were after. She doubted he really liked being in on small little nothings, but she was bored, Remy didn't mind watching her back, and...

Her phone vibrated against her thigh. Jubilee double checked it. Crap. She had to meet Jen in a couple hours.

"I shorted out security. It'll come back up. We've got fifteen minutes for it to recycle since I just surged it." Jubilee had been doing this for a while. She knew the cycles on the security down to the second. "I haven't looked at the higher end stuff, but then, I'm an amateur." Significant look.

"Fifteen minutes be plenty." The Cajun had worked with plenty of smaller windows in the past. And he didn't miss that look. Softening him up wasn't a difficult task.

He already had a list of supplies. If Jubilee wanted anything extra she'd be able to take care of that herself. He gave a quick motion toward the back to signify that was where he'd be heading. There was no sense in wasting more time than they already had, and this wouldn't take long at all. He'd get it done even if he felt like such a petty thief for doing it. It wasn't as if he could turn down that cute little smile.

Jubilee ghosted up and down the aisles, picking up the things on her list. She had this down to a science. Take things, face out the shelves, and no one was the wiser. She dumped a couple bottles of shampoo in her bag. She really wanted to wash her hair.

She finished up and waited around for Remy near the door, munching on a cereal bar. She was hungry for a change. She finished off one and stuck the wrapper in her bag. Her phone she stuck in the pocket on the side. She really didn't need to carry it with her. She was munching on another cereal bar when she saw Remy. "Ready?" She mumbled around a full mouth.

She was really hungry lately... Jubilee counted on her fingers. Nope. That was last week. Oh well.

Szayel hated having to stalk the darkness creatures for food, but with the attack from the shinigami imminent and their inability to hunt humans, he had little choice when it came to building up his power. Even in a support position like he was in, he needed to do something to prepare for the odd chance that he would be attacked. It didn't mean he had to like it, though, and the bloody trail of twitching body parts and organs were attesting to that.

He was in the process of ripping the head of one off with his teeth, when he heard a strange sound... and an even stranger spiritual pressure to accompany it. Curious despite himself, he tossed the night creature against the wall, the snap of bones going ignored as he followed the strange sensation to its source.

Jubilee had left Remy behind and was footloose, fancy free and being stalked by the mutate things. So, she'd taken to a running battle, but one in particular was giving her a run for her money. It was a fast shit, that moved without a spine and had some sort of tongue thing that kept trying to grab her.

Oh hell no.

She scrambled up onto a wall and sat crouched in the shadows. The creature came around the corner and Jubilee lit up the sky. The mutate blew apart, spattering the walls and ground with... ew. That was gross.

Dropping back to the ground, Jubilee picked up an easy lope, headed toward Sector Eight.

...well. That had certainly been interesting.

A slow smirk worked its way onto Szayel's face as he stalked after the woman, keeping to the shadows. After all, how often did one run across a human that could create such sparks like that?

He kept his steps silent, until he was certain he had her alone... and deliberately knocked over a trash can before using sonido to bring him to a safe location out of her view.

Jubilee whipped around, hands up and sparking. When she didn't see a target, so Jubilee turned back to walking down the street, keeping an eye out for more targets.

Another garbage can fell and Jubilee jumped, but this time, she didn't hold back. The cats that had knocked it over ran away and Jubilee laughed at herself.

Shaking her head, she began walking once more.
