The thing was utterly ridiculous. It seemed that since he didn't have a home to tunnel under, or koi to steal, that Kusajishi-fukutaichou felt the need to instead sully his house in other ways.

Thankfully, Hitsugaya-taichou hadn't seen the thing. It gave him a headache just too look at it. Neon pink with bright yellow polka dots, and huge floppy ears, the stuffed rabbit had to be bigger than the fukutaichou.

Passing someone on the street, he almost lost his composure seeing a pair scampering off. His morning students had been utterly worthless. Something about a lovers' holiday. Keeping his disapproval to himself, he continued toward where he'd told the Kenpachi to meet him.

He found grey eyes wandering after a pretty little redhead who went giggling past with a young man in tow. Shaking it off, he saw the intimidation of the businessman but said nothing... even as his attention wandered after the man....

He saw the neon pink a half-second before he saw the captain, and his lips turned up in a smirk that showed off his fangs. If terrifying passersby had made him feel a little less pissed off, watching Kuchiki Byakuya of all people carry that fucking atrocity of a stuffed animal down the street made Kenpachi positively cheerful. "Took you long enough," he called out.

Was Kuchiki even looking at him? His head was turned like he was watching something behind him. It highlighted his noble profile and gave him a good view of silky black hair that he would love to pull-

Kenpachi shook his head. What the fuck was that all about?

Byakuya didn't dignify the call with a response. His attention was firmly riveted on the retreating businessman. Honestly, to be afraid of a barbarian such as the Kenpachi? Where was the man's pride?

He turned back and threaded his way through the crowd toward the Kenpachi. Byakuya would never understand the man's fascination with scaring his lessers. He was, after all, a taichou of the Gotei 13. There was a certain amount of pride to be had in that, even if he was a low-born mongrel with the social skills of a rabid beaver... with very fascinating scars....

A slight frown creased his brow, but smoothed out quickly enough. "Kusajishi-fukutaichou misplaced this." He presented the stuffed bunny to Kenpachi, even if he suddenly wanted to snatch it back and go home and cuddle with it and whoever else would could be coerced into joining him...

Obviously, he was becoming ill. He should warn Hitsugaya-taichou.

Kenpachi took the bunny and tucked it under his arm casually, like he was daring anyone to say something about the fact that he was carrying a neon-colored stuffed toy around the city.

"Has she been bugging you?" He didn't really care if she bothered the other captain. What he cared about was how much he was going to have to hear about it afterwards.

The strange thing was that today, he wanted to hear more about it. Or maybe he just wanted Byakuya to stick around a little longer instead of running back home. He was feeling a strange restlessness along with a compulsion to draw closer to Kuchiki.

"Hey." These feelings could only mean he needed one thing. "Wanna fight?"
