Restless and ill at ease, Ichigo had left the apartment shortly after the siren had gone off that morning. There was still so much to do, finding a job at the top of the list, and he wanted to cram as much searching as possible into the hours prior to his meeting with Urahara. His continued inability to find a job only added to the aggravation and stress that had been piling up on him over the last two weeks, and when he finally arrived at the border of the sectors, he was in a bad mood. Not, of course, that he hadn't been already ( ... )

Looking keenly at Kurosaki-kun from under the shaded brim of his hat Urahara smiled faintly at the boy's stance and expression. He was making a rather mature effort to hide his tension. But Urahara had decades of observing even the faintest muscle twitch that could forewarn of an attack. The boy didn't stand much of a chance of hiding his mood from him~

"'Afternoon, Kurosaki-kun♪" Urahara called loudly, waving a little with his folding fan. Although it wasn't strictly necessary, he glanced up and down the street. It was easy to tell the Hollow wasn't here.

"And will Shiro-kun be able to make it?"

Turning at the sound of Urahara's voice, Ichigo studies him in silence for a moment. When is he from? It's impossible to tell, and it grates on his nerves that he doesn't know. Not knowing means questions, and if there's anything Ichigo's learned in his few weeks in Siren's Port, it's that answers are rarely given freely or easily.

When Urahara's closer and he doesn't have to yell, Ichigo nods. "Yeah, I think so. I left him a note before I left this morning. He should be here eventually."

Shiro woke up a bit late and rubbed his eyes blearily. By the time he was fully awake (and stimulated by an extremely chocolatey coffee concoction), Ichigo was long gone. He easily spotted the note and cursed a bit. Urahara. That crazy hat and clogs bastard. The Hollow quickly pulls on some warm, but loose clothing and heads off to the appointed location using Sonido, using Ichigo's reiatsu as a beacon more than any physical directions.

He drops out of the technique about a hundred yards from the pair and strolls over, nonchalant as can be.

"Yo. Didn't start without me, didja?" He gives Ichigo a bright grin, then turns to Urahara, the grin now resembling something more like a sneer. "Hat-n-Clogs."

He returns the studying look with an innocent glance and a slight grin. Yes, the boy will have questions. All~ sorts of questions. But then, so did he.

Piqued by the sensation of a Hollow moving closer, Urahara turned from Kurosaki to face the approaching Shiro. So very interesting~ his mind was awhirl.

"Shiro-kun," he greeted the Hollow. (Well, actually 'Hollow' was a bit of a misnomer for what he was, but it worked.) Nice sneer. He must quite accutely remember the time of his creation. And be equally aware of how much he might owe Urahara for it.

"We haven't started yet," he continued, tucking his fan away for the moment. He shot Kurosaki a slight look as he also leaned against the wall. "Would you like me to field any questions before we begin? It will be easier if your mind is clear, but either way~"
