Ken's still in his pajamas when there's a knock on the door. He figures it can be (one of) his concessions to the day--letting himself stay in the warm comfortable clothes while sitting on the couch watching soccer--an old t-shirt with a hole in the seam of one shoulder and plaid flannel pants--and call out for delivery instead of cooking.

He's not expecting anyone. Why would he be, the Christmas party was last night and Christmas Eve not til tomorrow, he hadn't told anyone what day it was or why it might be personally significant. (Sure, it was a national holiday back home, but this was hardly Japan and it wasn't the sort of thing that you went door-to-door for anyway.) So when he opens the door to see Kia, holding festively-wrapped boxes no less, he's surprised.

"Kia?"

Kia's not bothered by Ken's lazy clothing or the sound of the soccer game in the background. He figures Ken's just relaxing before the holiday like most people do. He smiles as the door opens, glad that Ken doesn't have any strong emotions other than confusion to pick up on.

"Hey Ken. I'm gonna be sorta busy the next couple of days, so I figured I'd bring over the things I got you and Aya today while I could."

Ken smiles. He knows he looks like he just rolled out of bed after a bit of a lie-in...because he kinda did...but he doesn't have enough shame to feel embarrassed about it. He steps aside, a silent invitation if Kia wants to stop in for a bit.

"Thanks. D'ya want something to drink or eat?"

He steps inside, nods his thanks to Ken, and sets the boxes down, sorted into two piles -- one for Ken and one for Aya. There's no shame in being comfortable on a day where nothing's really happening, especially since it lets Kia see what Ken sleeps in.

"Soda or something if you've got it." As Kia takes his coat off for the time being, a large, blotchy bite mark comes into view on the curve where his neck and shoulder meet.
