[Rinoa shrugged and looked a little embarrassed after Kairi talked about her entrance.] I could think of more pleasant ways to being introduced to this place... but I guess it was probably better that way. At least it cut down on the amount of time it would have taken for me to understand how dangerous it is.

[Then she looked at Axel with an expression that did very little to conceal that she thought him wanting to walk around in the darkness was a crazy idea too. But after a moment, her mouth quirked up into a smirk.] Let me guess. [She pointed at him as she gave her guess.] You're a fighter, huh?

You have shifts in the Darkness? [Axel gives Kairi a rather dubious look at this news. That doesn't sound particularly safe--not that he's worried or anything.] Well, I suppose you both made it through.

[He smiles at them both, entertained by the matching incredulous expressions.] I can call fire out of nowhere, if that counts as being a fighter.

[ Course not, why would he possibly be worried about -her-? ]

Not often. I was covering for someone who couldn't make it. And there were a couple of other people there. Otherwise he wouldn't have asked. [ Something about her not being much of a combatant. cough. ALSO HOLY HELL WHAT IS THAT SMILE. I mean. ]

... [ Kairi glanced at Rinoa, still perplexed, then back to Axel, who still weirded her out with that smile. ] Well... even so, isn't that kind of pushing your luck, waltzing around at night like that?

[ Not that certain other people don't do the same. MEN. What would happen if you got hurt? Xion and Roxas would be upset! ]

I'm glad that she was working that night. She was very helpful. [Because she sees that dubious look Mister. Stopit.]

[Kairi has a point, a really good point, and Rinoa nodded at her to give her a clue that she agreed with her, but she continued on with what she was talking about with Axel first.] I meant you being a fighter in more along the lines of going out in the Darkness to fight those monsters because you could. You know, thin out their numbers a little so that the Greeters or anyone else out there could make it around a little easier.

[She set her hands on her hips and tilted her head a little.] Somebody needs to or else things might even be worse than they are, right? Unless you're the type that would wander out there just because you wanted to pick a fight.

Still, it's probably best not to make a habit of it. Kairi's good at getting herself into trouble. [And he wouldn't know aaanything about that.]

[He laughs] I'm not altruistic, if that's what you mean. [Kairi could tell you that.] Maybe it does some good, who knows? But I do it when I want to fight.

[And pushing his luck is part of the fun, Kairi.]

[ Kairi grinned at Rinoa. ] Hey I'm glad to have been able to help. At leas - [ Oh she probably oughtn't mention the monsters that attacked. Not that Axel would care or anything. ]

... Hey, that isn't my fault. [ And a look that says, 'You'd know all about that, wouldn't you Axel :I ] Those things respawn every night don't they? I guess it does a little help, at least in keeping the numbers down each night, but... [ A sudden sharp laugh at Axel's comments. Aheh, him? Altruistic? PFF. And Xehanort wears pretty pink dresses. ]

So you want to fight all the time? [ What a shock. She glanced at Rinoa, with a wry grin. ] He's a bit of a hothead. [ YAY poking fun at Axel >D ]

Hmpt. [The hands stayed on her hips as Rinoa lifted her head to give Axel a look too. The... 'Oh really?' look to be precise.] Kairi did just fine and I'm not all that bad at dealing with trouble.

[She shrugged, not at all put off by the fact that Axel didn't end up being a hero type that fought monsters to help people.] It's fine. I'm used to guys like him actually.

So. [She turned her attention back to Axel.] You call fire out of nowhere? Got any other special talents... like maybe... [She glanced to Kairi and grinned just for a moment.] fetching drinks?

[He lifts his hands palm-up in a whatever you say way.] As long as you two pulled through.

[He doesn't mind them poking fun at him, especially when he can apparently still freak out Kairi with little more than a smile.] What's wrong with fighting? It has its own appeal. [It's a way of feeling alive, really. Just you against the Darkness.]

I might be able to manage drinks. What are we all looking for?

We're here, aren't we? And Rinoa's weapon is pretty cool. [ Seriously, she has a flying frisbee of death. NOT LIKE AXEL'S LAME OL' ... oh..wait. ]

Yeah yeah, you boys have to work out your testosterone. [ She waves a hand dismissively. Snort. MEN. Why not ever take up knitting? ]

Huh? [ Wait, seriously? ] Oh - I'm fine with a soda. [ Or some non alcoholic eggnog. ] How about you, Rinoa?

I'm not judging you cause you're getting us drinks! :D

[Rinoa glanced over at Kairi with a halfsmile when she talked about how cool the Blaster Edge was. She didn't comment, but she might have to take Kairi out to show her how to use it since she seemed to like it so much.]

There's nothing wrong with fighting... I think it's good that someone is out there fighting those monsters. Even if they just show up again, and even if you don't do it because you want to help out, because it's got to be doing some good, right? [She glanced downward for a moment at her hands. Pondering something...]

[She did not share in the other girl's surprise. Obviously she was more optimistic of Axel being cooperative.] Hmmm. [Head tilt. Think-think.] Why don't you just surprise me, okay! [She will see what he comes back with... and not at all use it as some way to judge his character! nope. never.]

That's so true. [He is being totally sincere to you, Rinoa. Totally.] And there's so many people who fight the Darkness on their own time. We must be a very caring little community here on our island, don't you think?

[He leaves them with that thought and a little gesture of his fingers like a salute, going to fetch drinks like the gentleman he is. The soda for Kairi, and for Rinoa he goes with eggnog, because apparently it's the holiday thing.]

Enjoy. [Bringing them back a few minutes later and handing them out.]

[ Kairi glanced curiously towards Rinoa at that ponderous look, but didn't comment on it. She could ask her later if necessary- or if she remembered. ]

[ And then the drinks are delivered, and rather nicely at that. ] Thanks. [ That at least, was genuine and without suspicion. But... she had to add. ]

Not bad Axel - if your other jobs ever fall through I'm sure you'll do nicely as a waiter. [ And since Rinoa got eggnog, Kairi glanced over to the other girl curiously to see if it tasted okay. ]

You .. didn't make that yourself right? [ Eyeing Axel suspiciously again. She didn't take him for a cook. ]

I AM D: THEN I AM DD:!! because I wants a santa hat icon too!

[Rinoa gives that 'sincerity' a head tilt and for a moment her eyes narrow into a thoughtful look, but she doesn't say anything. If he's being sarcastic and believe me she's able to pick up on it... but... he gets a freebie if he is getting them drinks. But he only gets this ONE.

While he's gone, Rinoa slipped in a slide over to Kairi to whisper to her.] He's kinda cute. [Said in a obvious 'just thought I'd point it out' way and not at all in the 'MMM wanna break me off a piece of that' way.]

[Then the drinks are here and she actually said -] Hurray! [- as she took hers.]

Well, I do work at a couple of nightclubs. [And should therefore know something about drinks.] Not behind the bar, though. But if you're interested in my cooking skills, Kairi, you should try the turducken. It'll be so much better than anything Riku could make.

[He's kidding there. Sort of.]

So, any more fetching and carrying I can do? [You're both going to owe him for this.]

Yeah, but I thought you worked security, not bartending. [ She watched Rinoa's face curiously, to see if the drink was any good. Glancing to Axel again, she quirks an eyebrow warily. ]

What ... is turducken? [ And hey, if he's going to offer. ] Well since you're offering - [ Kairi flashed a quick grin at Rinoa, then added. ] I suppose we wouldn't mind trying this turducken. Right Rinoa? [ Wait what was that? She leaned over to the other girl.] ... You're joking, right?
