[ Katara is one of the first to show up, punctual as ever. It also helped that she had already been out, stretching her muscles. Any chance to whap her brother with a snowball is a good one. She hadn't had a snowball fight since they were little. ]

Hey Ken, I'm here! Give me just a second, I'll fix this up.

[ By 'this' she of course, meant the rain and muddy puddles. Taking a stance, she made flowing motions with her arms, water from the ground freezing into ice, then snow, and temperature dropping enough that any rain that fell would fall as snow. TAKE THAT MOTHER NATURohwait. ]

There, that's better.

Brilliant! I almost thought we were gonna have to change the plan for a bit. Good thing you decided to come.

[He hops off the swing, boots crunching in Katara's newly-made snow]

How'd you do that, anyway? My roommate can do some stuff with water, but nothing like that.

[...mostly he just splashes Ken in the face when he misbehaves and puts out errant fires in their apartment.]

Plus if Hitsugaya comes by he's going to end up on the opposite team out of spite since Ken's going to pelt him with snowballs. It's only fair.]

Apparently "High Noon" isn't the same for everybody... especially to the people that didn't get to sleep until close to 8am. It was a little hard for Rinoa to get out of bed a few hours later, and some people would be happy to know that she was starting to dislike this whole staying up all night business. It ... really isn't working out like she thought it would, and if fun things normally happen around this time... she doesn't want to miss it.

But anyway, moving on, Rinoa showed up a little late, but at least she got there before all the action started. It was almost like she had a super power by how quickly she managed to spot a girl and hurry over that way just in time to hear Ken speak. "Hi! So there are gonna be teams?" Without pausing for an answer, she reached over and touched Katara's shoulder, tagging her as if it were some kind of game of claiming a prize. "Us girls should stick together, don't you think?"

[ Only Katara doesn't target her brother IMMEDIATELY, no. She'd rather him suffer, KNOWING his doom lay in her blue eyes >:) ... she couldn't help but feel it was like cheating, but no one said she couldn't use her power. So again she gestures, making sweeping movements with her arms, swaying into the motion as snow rises up from the ground, making a half circle wall that stopped at their waist. Perfect to duck behind.

She was probably going to get tagged doing that, but that was all in fun. Now the war began. ]

[Rinoa still had her first snowball in her hands since once she had finished making it there wasn't anyone within range to throw it at. And now she stood in awe after Katara make their snow barricade. She knew of people having powers in the city... but she'd missed any displays of 'magic' like this.] How... how did you do that?

[ Ducking behind her fort again, Katara laughed - it was all in fun, so she didn't mind if she got pegged with a snowball or two. Granted, it was all too easy to come out of this without any snow on her at all, but where was the fun in that? About to rise a ball of snow and send it hurtling in the direction of the opposition, she glanced at Rinoa with a broad grin. ]

Ah - that? I'm a waterbender. We waterbenders can manipulate any form in liquid base - snow, rain, ice - you name it. It's because we're connected to the moon and sea.
