At least the actual buying of presents had been simplified by Kairi's input. He didn't know if it was a girl thing or just because she had experienced a lot more Christmases than him, but if his list hadn't been fully checked off, he was getting there after today.
"Cards?" He looked at Kairi in surprise. "We're supposed to get cards, too? Is there anything else?"

"Well, you don't have to exactly." She grinned at the surprised look. "A lot of people will buy cards to go along with the presents, or if you don't have a present to give someone, a card is a nice way to pass on the holiday sentiment. I have to pick some up myself - I didn't get any earlier."
She glanced around, motioning idly at the lines, "But you see what I mean about how mobbed it gets? We've only been here an hour or two, and it was pretty empty then, but the later the day goes, the more people show up. The lines can get really long."

She was right about the lines, though. The streets had been a lot more crowded lately, and Roxas didn't think it was because more newcomers had arrived. Being out and about just seemed like the thing to do, usually with lots of bags and packages.
"I guess Christmas is important to just about everyone," he said, glancing around. "People like holidays."

Oh right. Roxas. Awkward moment passing, "U-m. I should give you fair warning, there are a lot if different types of cards. General 'Merry Christmas' or 'Happy Holidays', and then there are funny, sentimental, raunchy, but she's staying WELl away from that section - there are even some with nothing inside to let you write your own thoughts if you don't like what is already there."
Poor Kairi, you're going to give Roxas a holiday overload at this rate.
