The amount of generosity that Sasuke had encountered in this place was unnerving. He'd requested it, certainly, but to have such an overwhelming response--it was strange. Bothersome ( ... )

"You didn't feel like using the door?" she questioned, though her tone wasn't judgmental - just genuinely curious. That's what doors were there for, after all, and she was on the tenth floor. Then again, if Sasuke could fight monsters as he did, he was clearly much more capable than an average human boy. Perhaps he liked the exercise involved with entering through the window.

"Dinner should be ready in about twenty minutes if this recipe is right," Nelliel added. "There's enough time for you to wash up in the bathroom if you want to."

She wanted to know what he was going to do when she no longer had this starter apartment. He couldn't stay at Nueva Las Noches. Not only were outsiders not permitted there - there were barriers keeping them out. She also wouldn't have inflicted the company of roughly half of her fellow arrancar on the boy even if Aizen personally informed her it would be acceptable for Sasuke to stay with her.

"I never use the door," Sasuke replied, raising an eyebrow at her, and shook some of the snow off his clothes. It would be some time before the chill wore off completely, taking his nerves with it. He closed the window tightly and moved to the bathroom, where he proceeded to wash the blood of his hands and forearms, turning on the water as hot as it would go.

He moved back into the kitchen once that was done, seating himself at the table and watching Nelliel idly as she prepared the food. He couldn't identify what it was, exactly, but he didn't much care. Eating wasn't something he sought to enjoy; it was just a necessity, nothing more.

"Oh. You don't like using doors, then?" It was asked as if she was asking about something as simple as if he didn't like a colour or flavour of something.

The recipe involved coconut, a like sprinkle of curry, a small assortment of other spices mixed into a single blend, chicken, vegetables and noodles. It had come on a little recipe card at a grocery store, and highly recommended from one of the staff there, so she hoped it would taste good.

Once she was finished with the part she had to actually watch carefully, she turned on the oven timer and let the food simmer while she sat across the table from Sasuke.

"I meant to ask you - where are you staying after December 8th?"
