Originally, his glance up at the doctor was the unfocused type. Sleep-deprived, a little messy, very much unlike his usual posture. That lasted about a second, followed by a sharp, and grateful, focus on Daedalus. Jomy could definitely see the resemblance (it was faint, but it was there there) alright. Physically, anyway. Shiroe's mind would always feel a bit different due to the boy being what he was (naturally more (un)guarded) while this doctor's mind was entirely human-like ( ... )

He reacted similarly to the cold: with an immediate, full-body scrunch to make himself look even smaller than he was. He only paid attention to Daedalus' words, and nothing else. (Who know that he could dislike something so common as the chill?) Jomy trailed along next to the doctor, not answering immediately; he was waiting for the wind to die down.

When it did, he gave an awkward roll of the shoulders. Something of a shrug, perhaps.

"I've been doing alright. Likely better than most Newcomers, I think." He spoke those words mildly, merely as a simple fact, because it really was due to his luck being rather spectacular, as previously stated.

A side glance toward the doctor, eyes bright with curiosity and interest. "How about yourself? How long have you been in this city?"

Better than most. Daedalus was happy, maybe even a little self-satisfied to be able to claim the same- as well as note with some modest pride that all former Romdeau citizens in the city were doing exceptionally well for themselves, considering they were only immigrants here.

"Six months last Friday." Eyes directly ahead, focused on some distant traffic light winking red, to keep his tone polite. Lofty. Free of the amazement that bloomed inwardly at stating it again, aloud. Six months. It felt like only yesterday he opened his eyes and found himself in the warm, dry dust of the pitcher's mound in late May.

It was hard to believe, how much he'd assimilated- and how many things still managed to startle him.

"It's...been somewhat breathtaking, this world. Shiroe calls it the Terra his people were searching for."

It is. It is, but at the same time, it was not. The poor decor of the city aside, the corruption ran so deep into this piece of Terra that it felt tangible. But that wasn't anything he could voice, so he went with noise of agreement (to which part, he wasn't entirely certain) - that the morning traffic immediately shadowed.

So he voiced it. "Yes. There's so much to see here."

Not a lot of good things so far, but it wasn't entirely bad. Small piece of it or not, this was still Terra.

Anyway. "It's an interesting experience. Perhaps even good, despite its limitations."

"Perhaps." A small smile, tired in the eyes- he'd only spoken a few days ago, over the network, of how this city was different from his own...for better or worse, but in many ways 'good' (for however many other ways difficult and frustrating).

It was hard not to prefer this one over Romdeau, despite the many challenges, because unlike Romdeau this city survived crisis after crisis, thrived, sustained itself without the presence of a Proxy's life- nor the strict oversight of the administration. Which was...liberating, even as it left so much to independent, rampant trouble.

He tucked his hands into his overcoat pockets, watching his breath hang frosty in front of him.

"Have you been to the museum?"

Scrunching his shoulders together in a poor attempt at retaining more body heat at the next gust of wind, Jomy released a quiet exhale and shook his head.

"Only briefly." He'd seen the building, of course, but he hadn't gone inside. There was no way to tell how crowded museums got, but he'd taken it as a general rule to avoid places of great gathering (like a hospital) when possible. Pain was only worth voluntarily enduring when there was a reason to.

Wearing a slight smile himself, "I admit that I've been rather distracted by the nature here."

"Shiroe and I went in the early summer." Daedalus pined for june weather right now, pausing breifly at the crosswalk until it changed, then hurrying across, waiting till Jomy fell in line with him on the other side of the intersection before continuing. "He especially enjoyed the dinosaur fossils."

"I've heard there are places in Sector 7 that are nice...I've been to the shore also, looked over the ocean. It really is amazing. The seasons, too. Although I miss the daylight."

"As do I. Daylight, and the warmth." A shake of his head. "But - yes, there are many places worth visiting, if you've the time. The orchards, for one, and Winthers Lake."

Jomy glanced up then, braving the wind for a moment to determine where they were. He trusted Daedalus to know where they were going, but it didn't stop him from wanting to know their whereabouts somewhat. He still hadn't seen the entirety of this city. Not enough of it.

Back to the topic of the museum: "What else do they have on display?"

"I've been to Lake Versaid-" He nods, picking up pace just a little, longer brisk strides, because the java-scented warmth of the coffeehouse on the next corner couldn't be more of an inviting thought. "But I've heard Winthers is still contaminated?"

He squinted, questioning...

"They have numerous exhibits. On ancient cultures, things like that. Much less on actual city history than I would have liked."
