Raphael had been on the scene for a little while, taking a break from his Greeter duties to help with damage control after the earthquake. He stood out quite a bit himself, although in a much different way from the Undertaker. It wasn't just the single pure white wing on his pack, or the bright halo that floated above his head. There was just something about him that radiated good will and love. Even though the citizens of the area were wary of the presence of this strange newcomer, none could really bring themselves to scorn him. Normally quite a carefree guy, he had changed to a more serious mode in the midst of searching for people who needed help getting to a hospital in the remains of the building ( ... )

Undertaker caught sight of Rapharl long before the youth raised his hand to acknowledge him. He'd been watching the angel from afar as he'd approached. For a man such as himself to be in the presence of what would classically be an angel stunned him a little. How could it be that someone like this exists in this world. However, he knew that demons and grim reapers existed, it wasn't beyond comprehension that something on the light side could as well. But this youthful looking soul was not at all someone he would have ever dreamed he'd be associating with. He, and the Phantomhive he worked for, were all soaked in darkness. The difference between them could be felt as he approached, his hand raised to give a spidery wave in return ( ... )

"The light is not where I'm needed," Raphael said with a smile, "And the pleasure is mine, Undertaker."

The hand was taken and shook without hesitation. Raphael didn't fear the dark. To be honest, Raphael didn't fear much of anything. Being afraid of things that were against the norm was a human emotion, as was even thinking there was anything such as a 'norm'.

The small girl still seemed wary of Undertaker, but she clutched the trenchcoat close to her body with a sob. "I want Mommy!"

Raphael put a hand on her head, "Your Mommy wouldn't want you out here in this mess. She'd want you safe and sound in a hospital. I promise I'll find her, if you just trust me."

"Ahh, how truue," the man cooed as he tapped a long, black nail against his lower lip, surveying the damage that was surrounding them. It could have been much worse in the ways of fatalities. It was always difficult being the one who profited off of death, for, to say that he wished for people to die would be an offense that could, at the very least, leave him without clients. He did, in a way, wish for death, for death was necessary, without death, there could essentially, be no life. However, he never wished for anyone to feel the pain of the loss of a loved one. If anything, it was not the loss of life that caused the grief, it was the love that was felt between people. In the purest of senses, love was far more evil than death. The thought, no matter how deep it was, made a sharp, tinseled laughter billow from the man. It was enough to draw attention to them, if enough hadn't been drawn already ( ... )
