Caution. Care. Forethought. This couldn't be approached haphazardly. ...Honestly, Ishida wished it didn't have to be approached at all. This was going to change things; it was going to increase certain dangers - for Rikku, but also for what Ishida had devoted the past few months towards trying to construct. The Quincy had played at keeping his head down all the while as he played voyeur to Aizen's interactions, pulling select individuals into his confidence where he could tell them the full truth about the professor's true nature. He disliked the word "spies" for the implied drama, but that was essentially what he was making of these individuals; people who would collect data for him, to be used to block Aizen's social maneuvers when the time was ripe. It was a defense system full of kinks and holes, but it was the best he could do without proper resources or firepower ( ... )

Rikku did not understand why Ishida refused to tell her everything. She was a trustworthy person, right? Of course she was not very good at keeping secrets when she and Yunie were gossiping, but that was it! Otherwise, she was good. She knew how to deal with sensitive subjects. Anyway, sometimes information was the greatest thing a thief could steal. One of the most valuable things, anyway. Sure, something big and shiny would net you a lot of Gil, but info could save your life easy. The more she knew about the situation, the better off everyone would be, she felt. Well, it was better than running around and guessing ( ... )
