The Remnants did not often stick around during the services themselves - Kadaj and Loz tended to fidget and couldn't pay attention for long. It was easy to excuse their lack of presence in the end, being 'Angels' of the church and now officers of the law.

This Sunday Yazoo finds himself with nothing to do. Training happened on most days beside this one, he suspected it had something to do with the same reason more people came to the church, and he had not been assigned a patrol either. Thus he found himself waiting patiently for the chapel to clear out some before making his way back in to monopolize one side of the church as they usually did.

He was not expecting to find Joe shifting around in front of the rectory staircase, but the man took it in stride as he came down it, cocking his head to one side as a hint of a amused smile touched his face briefly. "Brother, what a surprise."

He didn't quite sound welcoming, but still far from hostile.

No getting into fights- he remembered how he'd promised Edgeworth to be careful, and so Joe let his darkness bottle under, when he felt it prickle up at the sight of Yazoo.

He folded his arms across his stomach, standing loosely at the bottom of the stairs, trying to avoid narrowing his eyes too much in suspicion or challenge.

"I used to come around here before you guys took up the place, you know."

The younger silver-haired boy set one foot on the rectory stairs. "I just wanted to have a look around."

Kadaj may of claimed Riku and Joe to be their Brothers and left it at that, but Yazoo had full intention of making sure their new brothers knew what they should. It seems they had forgotten Mother, and that did not please any of the Remnants, but they would bring them along, eventually.

Though, one had to wonder how Kadaj would feel if he realized that more brothers meant more competition for Mother.

Yazoo smiled, showing teeth but not making a move to stop the other. "Did you? I am not surprised, Joe." Although perhaps the reasons he thought were not the same as why he had actually came. Yazoo took a step down from the top of the stairs, but stepped off to the side, leaving more than enough room for the other to pass. "Go ahead, you've not needed my permission to do so."

That won't stopping him from following the other, however. he is aware that some suspected them of a recent disappearance.

Joe threw him a cautious sideways look at he passed the 'angel' 'brother' ...whoever he was- who did look close enough in likeness to be almost related, but...sleeker. He didn't know if he ought to be intimidated by Yazoo's catlike eyes, but they did prompt a raised spike of the dark in his heart, like a pressure build waiting under his fingertips.

If Sam wasn't here, if they'd taken him and hid him somewhere else, to be clever- well then Yazoo might probably mock him over it.

But a look around was a look around, and at least he could stand sure than that Sam wasn't here.

He climbed the stairs and peered down the hallway expectantly, as if expecting to hear sounds of struggle or cries for help.

The replica thought briefly about Tifa, how worried she's be for him, if she knew he'd come down here to check- which was why he hadn't said anything to her.
