Overdramatic Daddy Heaven!! isshinkurosaki February 5 2010, 02:42:14 UTC
Isshin hurried to the door when he heard the knock, throwing it open as Orpheus announced himself. The shinigami looked at the necromancer, his eyebrows raised in surprise. Whoa. This guy looked like some movie-vampire! He certianly hoped his new room-mate (If Orpheus ended up moving in, that is) wasn't a vampire. That would suck.

Pun intended.

"Hello!" He said, holding his hand out to the Dracula-looking-guy. "Kurosaki Isshin. It's very nice to meet you! Come in, won't you?" He stepped back, then he pointed down at Orpheus' shoes. "If you could take those off?" He didn't know if Orpheus followed the same traditions he did. He wasn't Japanese, after all!

"The rent is 700 dollars a month, plus gas and electricity... it's a pretty big place, though. Two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and I guess a dining area. I don't have much ... Okay, I don't have any furniture just yet, so I guess you'll have to provide your own furniture."

The door opened on a good-natured looking man. "Greetings! So nice to finally meet you face to face!" Orpheus took the offered hand. Isshin had quite a grip ( ... )

Isshin closed the door behind Orpheus, moving away from it. He nodded, hands clasped behind his back. He'd never actually rented an apartment before, or found a room-mate, so he wasn't entirely sure on how this went. Isshin thought that one of the things you probably needed in a roommate was... well, to like him. And as vampiric as he looked, Orpheus seemed like a rather likable guy. Maybe a bit boisterous, but then again, so was Isshin ( ... )

If Orpheus could read minds…

Well, he could…

If Orpheus had chosen to use his ability to read minds at this moment, he would have found that he and his potential roommate were having similarly favorable thoughts about each other. There was just something likeable about Kurosaki. He didn't give off waves of cynicism or shattered dreams like so many of the men Orpheus encountered in his original plane of existence.

"Do you cook much?" Orpheus asked as he examined the appliances. "When my wife left me, I had to learn my way around the kitchen. I found out the hard way that children need more than Happy Meals." He didn't elaborate, just shook his head sadly.

"Hopefully, it works. Washing the dishes by hand can be so tedious." Never mind that "by hand" for Orpheus sometimes meant "by telekinesis".

"Yes, yes, this all looks good. What else is there to see?" Orpheus was ready for the grand tour. Or maybe he just wanted to check out his new bedroom.

"Not very much! My daughter takes care of most of that. I can cook, just don't ask me to bake a souffle!" He grinned, despite the slight awkwardness that was trying its very best to creep in on them at the mention of Orpheus' divorce.

"It is very tedious. I don't have many dishes right now, so it isn't so bad, but I imagine we'll have to try out the dishwasher sometime to make sure it works!" Isshin nodded and left on, taking Orpheus to where the bedroom and bathroom doors were lined up in the hallway. "I'm on the left, with the bathroom." he pointed at his doorway, then at that of the bathroom.

"So I guess this would be your bedroom." He said, opening the door on the right, stepping into the empty room. "Sorry about the view," he said, gesturing toward the barred windows. "I guess they're to keep the monsters out."
