And he loves her because she is everything he wants to be. An animal with a human heart; purity of a child, eternity defying the times, maternity of a mother, devotion of a warrior, and the endless wisdom that comes with all of that.

She is almost too much for him. And laying there, feeling her presence without seeing her, and mulling over his own existence - his purpose in life, and whether he had a chance to really survive in this strange world - he thinks I love you, unaware that he says it out loud, quietly and reverently.

Jack.

He could die like that, here; he wouldn't mind. He kind of wants to ask her to do that for him, to kill him - here, at his absolute low point, before he comes to his senses and makes up his mind. Before he forgets how he'd wanted to die together with her, back then, how he'd wished to stay with her, forever and ever, no matter where, and no matter how.

He listens closely, she tells him a couple of times, and seems tense; he wonders why. It's not like her, and he's not quite sure if that should be unsettling to him, but even if it should, it's not ( ... )

B it is. Her blood shifts about inside of her veins. She's forgotten, by now, what it was at the time, but now it's B and that should work just fine. The other man she's called here will make sure of it.

Shijima should be the calm one. She should be crouching and serene, no more present than wind. Her muscles shouldn't be knotted like they are; her throat shouldn't be dry. It is, though, and she can't really help that right now. He asks her and she-- A low sound tumbles forth, not unlike an overshadowed growl. Why indeed. Because I need to, it seems."Well," she tells him shortly, and then she pokes his nose. That is his answer. That is all she can say with a human mouth ( ... )
