[It's been awhile since John's showed his face in an entry of his own on the network, but work and then that thing with Roman certainly made it more difficult to blog. He'd just finished an entry on the crackdown last week or so and decided to splurge a little. His proficiencies in gambling had been increasing lately. It was almost strange the ( Read more... )

Does he? I never would have guessed--

Ugh it's so annoying! He criticizes my blog entries about our cases, even when we were in London, for being too "romantic."

Whatever. I'll write whatever I want.

[She tries not to laugh.]

"Too romantic?" You're sure he doesn't mean "too emotional?"

Probably that too. There was one pretty bad case, the case before we... came here I guess. He was just so devoid of emotion that I just didn't get it.

Innocent people were being strapped to bombs and if Sherlock could solve this freak's puzzles, the people would live. He thought of it as some game.

It was really frustrating.

Are you looking to get a date? 'Cause you probably lost most of the girls here at 'Opera', I'll bet. Unless they're sort of snotty.

What-- No! I'm just looking for a night out. It's been so boring just waking up and going to work every day. I need to start adjusting to life here in Siren's like I did back in London.

And a lady who enjoys the arts isn't necessarily snotty as you call it.

Why don't you go to one of the cooler clubs, like Twins? Major's is so...stuffy-costumey.

I'm 33.

The Opera's in French, isn't it? Do you know if there are any other unsold seats available?

Yeah, it is, which Sherlock speaks very well, actually. But I'm not sure. I only got my tickets yesterday so there may be some last minute ones they're trying to sell. Mine aren't the best seats, but you can still see the stage and the people at a relatively normal size.

[Congrats, John, you just earned yourself a loving excerpt of Mendelssohn and a subsequent text.]

False.

We can't even watch a movie together without you giving out the plot. How am I supposed to enjoy an opera if you'll most likely analyze everything?

[The piece continues on rather mournfully.]

I listen to music, John. And I'd hope you already know the story of Carmen by now.

I'm not talking about--

I meant movies we've never seen.

Mmm Carmen. It's been a while since I've been to an opera. I tend to prefer Puccini and Wagner, but Bizet isn't too bad. Mozart does better symphonies than operas, and, well, Verdi is always good, as long as the soprano is up to the part.

[Sheepish look.]

Sorry. Didn't mean to analyze everything.

[John chuckles.]

Don't look so embarrassed. I like Bizet, too. As for Mozart, I find myself appreciating Mendelssohn these days when it comes to violin pieces.

What are your thoughts on Beethoven?

[Jubilee blows a big bubble of bubble gum and starts painting her nails.]

His sonatas aren't my favorites, but they do have a certain... air to them, I guess. His symphonies are beautiful, and I often listen to them when working out, or trying to meditate. I'm not very fond of Fidelio, but I don't think the one recording I heard of it was the best.

Honestly, Tchaikovsky, Mozart and Wagner are probably my favorite composers, though Mendelssohn and Handel hold special places in my heart.

[She's lounging around in a sports bra and jeans, painting her nails neon pink, oh and there are bright blue streaks in her hair. And she's discussing classical music. Jubilee loves her life.]
