011a: Voice - he's getting tired of this.

Mar 28, 2011 21:30

Douglas Ramsey and Remy LeBeau have disappeared. They aren't on the island, their belongings are still here, and their NV's have stopped working. As far as we have determined, they have been returned home.

[Damn it, he never got that Remy guy to make him gumbo.]

Seems like a lot of them are skipping town lately.

[If you listen closely, there's an undercurrent of nervousness. Griffin isn't ready to go home.]

Perhaps a cycle for the Core? Load a bunch in, return some?

Glad to here from you though. [There's some relief from him, glad to know Griffin is all right.]

... Thanks. [Griffin registers the relief, but he doesn't know what to do with it. So he swiftly moves on.]

Has it always been like that? I've only been here a few months, this is the only time I've seen it stop bringing in people all together. Outside of that one guy.

I'm only been here since October. It was dropping people in every month. Others have also mentioned that the Core stopped bringing people in after the last attack on the Core. But yes, it's always returned people. Seems to happen in spurts.

[ Interprets "returned home" as a euphemism ]

Friends of yours?

A friend and a foster son.

What happened to them, do you think?

Monsters?

Murderers?

This town can be so very ~exciting~!

[ Grell doesn't quite get the whole "compassion" thing... ]

[And you get video Ahiru because he's too distracted to change it.]

Thank you my dear. Douglas is very dear to me so...

It's a good thing, isn't it? That people are being sent back home.

It is for them. Less so for those of us here who know and love them.

Selfish, hm? To wish for them to be with us, when it's better that they are not.

[But he sounds tired too, Minato's learning to deal with the sudden loss of loved ones himself.]

It would be simpler to accept if there seemed to be much rhyme or reason for the disappearances. Waking up and finding someone gone can be rather jarring.

Better is debatable.

Indeed. It's the unknown, the seemingly random nature of it all. It's having no control at all that... [Enough said.]

I'm sorry. Seems like your people tend to come and go a bit more than others.

Thank you.

It doesn't surprise me. We can't even keep everyone on the planet. Inside one universe or two seems like hoping for a bit much.

Those pesky kids, always have to get off to some other universe and then don't stick around.
