Well, technically neither of them are working properly - one doesn't work at all, and the other one loses time. But at least with the broken one, it's always at the same time. [ Guess it depends on what you're looking for in a clock? ]

Are you sure it wasn't just that the riddle was no good at you?

You must have tickled me in some way. There is no perfectly good explanation, explaining why one would get the hiccups, while laying upside down.
