Second Wish -- Video

[He appears to be a little less nervous than he was the first time he addressed the network, but still not totally comfortable.]

I hope everybody's been doing okay despite all that's happened the past few days. At least the power is back on; it seems to keep things a little safer. [Why yes he's noticed the shifts in monster activity seem to ( Read more... )

But you don't remember it?

Not in the slightest.

Huh. That's weird. Back home people usually remember . . .

[He really does not want to talk about it. The fact that he doesn't remember makes it even harder to give a good answer. But he figures its a valid question, so he at least offers a very tired sounding reply.]

I don't know... but Nadeko-chan said she heard from some one else that it happens.

Did she say if it happens for natives or just Newcomers?

[His head tilts, brow furrows just a bit. Something about this voice is familiar. But he can't place it. Probably because it's not screaming.

[He does notice the weariness, though.] Um . . . are you okay?

She didn't know.

[long silence]

... I was one of the ones that got brought back.

I . . . really hope it's not just for us.

[He bites his lip uncomfortably when he hears that. Oh, geez. He doesn't want to dredge up anything bad for these people. And when the video switches on, he only feels even more guilty.] Oh gosh, I'm sorry. Not sorry that you're back, I mean. I didn't mean to remind you.

Yeah. I've seen them talking on this network a while after they got killed.

If...if they've died, then they can't talk. So if they're speaking, they mustn't have died.

No, they died, sir. A couple of those murders got . . . unintentionally broadcasted. I don't think it's a mistake. [Forgive him. He comes from a world where this can happen if you have knowledge of certain things.]

It happens enough to notice, but not enough to count on.

Technically, that's more often than it happens at home . . . [Here he goes again, letting stuff like this slip. Discretion? What's that?]

Not a lot a lot, but it happens often enough. Maybe one in ten.

Ten percent. Hm. Still often enough for most people to not be too surprised.

Depends on the person. I wouldn't say most wouldn't be surprised.

I guess it's just a lot of the people I've seen talking on here, then.
