Good evening.

This is Cypher, the developer behind the video game entitled Crypt Disasters. After speaking with some of you last time, I've decided to get the opinions of the public in regards to what sorts of games you would like to see released next ( Read more... )

You made a game?

I've never played a game before...

You haven't been in Siren's Port long, I imagine. [This isn't really a question. He can already tell.]

Yeah, I created a game that can be played on the NV. For more variety, there are specialty stores that sell nothing but games and the systems they're played on. That might be worth checking out if you're interested.

It's been less than a week, is it so easy to tell?

[ A pause, thinking. ]

I don't know if I'm interested... but I'd like to try yours.

It isn't violent, is it? I'd rather not play that sort of game...

It may be for some.

The game does include a fair amount of fighting, so it might not be something you're interested in. However, as I said, I'm taking ideas for future games. I can mark down 'non-violent' as a preference.

Requirements for a good game are as follows:

- Difficult puzzles (especially puzzles that require logic)
- Good pictures to look at
- No flashing lights
- Don't make it based on characters and character development because that's boring.

Also: make it for NVs again. People make games for different systems but it isn't necessary. That's all I can think of for now.

[A good game for Near, anyway.]

I'll take all this into consideration. It will definitely be targeted at the NV, at least.

[This is what you get when you ask for opinions, pal!]

Your other game was pretty good. Will you work on it soon?

I'll get started on the new one as soon as I can take some of the ideas I already have and measure them up against some of the themes others express interest in.

As for my original game, I'm already in the process of working on the continuation. It's taking a bit more work, as I'm improving upon the original engine. The only reason the first game came out as quickly as it did was that I was able to get my hands on an abandoned product that I edited and improved upon.

Real Time Strategy. Understood.

Are there any other particular elements you'd want?

[Thinking, so there's several moments of silence.]

An inability to cheat.

That will be difficult, given the nature of the technology itself. If the game is single player, some people may want the option to mod as necessary.

I will do my best not to make it an easy task in any multiplayer modes I might incorporate.

Something that has both challenging and mindless elements - I was into an MMO back home, kinda, and there were times I liked doing missions, fighting difficult bosses and solving mysteries, but other times I just liked being in town, chatting with others, doing trades or farming.

While there's no way I could handle running something that would require the amount of maintenance a MMO would at this point, I do understand what you're getting at.

I guess that would be tough. I don't really know that much about video games.

Just something with a variety of activities, both mindless and complex.

I'll take this into consideration. It's definitely not a bad idea.
