[Yuffie was just going along and minding her own business when she heard him over the NV. Of course, in her haste to try and turn on the video in response, she dropped the dang thing. so Cloud, sorry for the loud crashing sound and the nice view of the floor.]

[There is a lot of cursing and griping, both in English and Wutanese as Yuffie crawls under the desk to get at the NV. When she finally does, she turns it towards her to actually get a look at the screen and...and yeah. That's Cloud. ....Young...Not glow-y eyed....Cloud.]

[She grins into the feed, a little stressed maybe but it's fairly sincere, and you can see her feet kicking back and forth as she's still half under the desk while she talks to the NV.]

Jeeze, Chocobo head, you sure picked a time to show up!

[That was probably the last sort of response he was expecting. He just kinda stares at her, a little baffled, and wondering what the hell he should do. He's pretty sure she's taco crazy and that counters any girl shyness he might've had.]

[And he immediately regrets introducing himself. Great, now she knows his name. Maybe he should save himself and hang up.]

[Tifa was making soup when she heard it, hands going numb and sending the bowl crashing to the floor of the kitchen. She approaches the NV slowly, in shock, staring at the youthful figure in front of her.

It's Cloud but...from so long ago. Blue eyes, that youthful face...ah...what did she say? How did she...what...brain not working. She fumbles the NV to voice, not wanting to mess anything up.]

C-cloud?

[Voice]

[That voice... it was really familiar, and he knew he'd heard it before, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. She sounded older than him, or at least more mature, which narrowed it down to his mother. And this was definitely not his mom's voice. He turns away from the microphone to take a steadying breath, hoping to keep the nervousness out of his voice when he responds.]

...Yeah, can I help you, ma'am?

I thought it was you. [Tifa's struggling to keep her voice neutral, to sound pleased without sounding completely overjoyed. How does she handle this? The Network hardly seems like the place...]

[Why were his palms sweating? Sure, he was speaking to a woman who seemed interested in talking to him, for some reason, but to be this nervous was overkill. Maybe it was the quality of voice; he was so close to placing it. And she said she was from Nibelheim, so who could she-]

...Tifa? [And then it clicked, and he really would have preferred to be ignorant of who she was. Maybe he's wrong, maybe it's just wistful thinking on his part and he wouldn't have to throw himself out the window.]
