I have a few documents to file still. I can finish them tonight.

You may have your office back in morning.

That will be fine. There is no need to rush. I will use the time tonight to update my records on this assignment.

Later, perhaps. I am not presentable at the moment.

Many appear to believe it is a gift from the Core.

There is little purpose in implementing bribery.

Fostering paranoia and/or lulling the newcomer population into a false sense of security.

It does not require a great deal of effort to strip people of their sense of security. The Core, and its affiliates, should not be trusted.

Yeah I figured as much when he didn't come up. Thanks for the heads up anyway.

I'm fine.

[ Just a little maybe but she's doing a good job handling it. ]

[He doesn’t really believe it, but he can’t read minds, so…]

I have finished my assignment. You no longer need to concern yourself with that aspect.

You're welcome. It was strange to celebrate, but a nice distraction from the situation.

General consensuses seems to be items were brought by the Core. I received a monetary gift, myself.

Most traditions and holidays from other realms will likely seem unusual to our standards. We can either become accustomed, or simply choose not to participate.

What would you and Neji like to receive in return?

Monetary? So bribery is the intent.

Unusual perhaps, but it's a good opportunity to learn about other customs.

A return gift isn't necessary, we just wanted to do something nice. Truthfully, I wouldn't even know what to ask for.

Possibly, though I can't say I'm ungrateful. What motivation would the Core have to bribe us? To ease the situation? Or to taunt us with the fact that things, and people, can be brought in just as easily as they can be taken away?

We would have to determine that motives and sentient thought are something it's even capable of, to reach a conclusive answer.
