[It's early into the night, an hour or two after the sirens have gone off at most. She's out of breath and there's an underlying hint of pain in her voice as she steadies her tone.]
Mr. Edgeworth was killed tonight. His killer, Grimmjow, is still at large and is somewhere out here in the Darkness.
[It should be obvious, but she says it anyway.

You want us to just take it? We'll be leading him back to others...

What, is he a dog? No fear, anyway. I'll take it. And I won't take it near anyone else, I'll take it elsewhere, and go from there. If we have it, then we'll have him, right?

[She shoots him a look of surprise and concern.]
Absolutely not. I'll watch over it; I don't want you in harm's way too. And don't you dare fight me on it.
Reply
Don't tell me that, it only makes me want to fight all the more. And don't be stupid about this. What are you going to do with it? Where would you take it?
Reply
I'll take it somewhere else, out of the city, so he can't damage any more property.
Reply
Yeah, but where. I already know somewhere. Give it to me, all right--isn't he already going to be after you for what you did to him? So we'll divide his attention. Simple.

Do you have a death wish?
Reply
For him? I do, yeah. For this bastard. Give it to me, and I'll take it somewhere for you.

I'm not giving more people their death sentence tonight. Don't ask me to do such a thing.

You're wasting time, and that's what's going to kill more people than anything else. Give it to me, because I can take it and hide it and he won't ever be able to find it, when I'm done with it. I'll enchant this rotty old piece of shit and he'll tear the whole island apart and still not be able to find it.
And if you say 'no', I'll summon it straight out of your hands and do it anyway.
Reply
Be sure that he can't ever find it.

He could level every sodding building in this place and he wouldn't be able to find it. [And he steps back, scanning the street again before glancing back at her.] Half an hour. I'll be out looking for him, then. Should I find you again, or stay off away?
[And whatever she says on this, at least, he'll obey.]

Good. That's...all I care about. [She nods as she watches him, brushing some of her hair behind her shoulder.] ...You should do what you think is best. Just be careful.

I'm always careful. And I've never been caught. [A beat, and then he gives her a hollow grin.] Well. Caught once. But I never do repeat performances, so it won't happen again.
I'll ring you later. And-- if I find him, or if you do-- [But he settles for nodding again.] Tell me. And I'll do the same. All right?
Reply
I know you won't be caught, but there's still other dangerous out here regardless. Just take care.
[Re-l nods.] I'll talk to you later, and you'll be the first to know if he shows his face again.
