[well, now! That classy-yet-casual-looking restaurant in the background just happens to be Brooke's - the new Brooke's, remodeling all finished. Sanji himself is dressed up in a new shirt that perfectly compliments the orange tie Alice gave him, and putting on his best suave-face for the camera ( Read more... )

I have waiter experience, but I'm already employed.

....so? Unless you're looking for a second job, what is that to me?

Nothing. [A practiced smiles slips onto his lips.] But, you were asking for assistance, and I had a question that had nothing to do with it.

[A pause.] Maybe, a "ice-breaker" was not needed for it.

What the hell are you talking about? If you want something, out with it.

[This particular teen doesn't want to have to work for someone else ever.

But he also doesn't want to be kicked out into the street.

...Not that he wouldn't be fully capable of fending for himself and all that.]

And this doesn't require a resume or anything?

It requires you to be able to do the work. If you've had experience in a restaurant before, though, that's a help.

I've had experience eating in a restaurant...

What sort of hours are we talking about?

At the start we're only going to be open for lunch and dinner hours, with a break in the afternoon. Anyone who works after sirens gets extra pay for having to make it home safe...although maybe I should talk to Nami about letting people stay overnight.

Anyway. Minimum shifts are four hours, most will be six or so.

Well, far be it for me to turn down free food if you're the one cooking it.

[She smiles. This is too easy; you'd think she'd be ashamed.] Oh, I'm sure you'd never want to disappoint a lady. I'll stop by after work sometime this week.

Of course, of course. You're welcome any time, Miss Yoruichi. Let me know when you're on the way and I'll have it waiting, fresh and warm, for you.

You're opening a new restaurant? That sounds very exciting! What kind of food will you be serving?

[all smiles for the pretty lady!] Ah, a variety, actually, I didn't want to limit myself to one type of cuisine. It's somewhat dependent on what's in season on the island, but there'll be seafood and vegetable dishes and pasta and wonderful desserts.

That sounds great! I bet it'll all be very yummy, especially the desserts! I'd eat them all day if I could.

Well, Miss Sunako has been very popular with our former cafe-crowd, they loved her desserts. She's staying on with us as a cook. But I'm no slouch myself~.

[A chuckle at this. She's been busy with the restaurant's paper work, the loopholes and jump-through and all that, taking time off to get this done. Brooke's was priority at the moment. From the little office she sat curled up in the chair, tea on the desk beside her, papers and pen. With a smile she replied to his recording.]

That orange tie looks good on you. [She always did like orange.] The holidays around here are interesting.

[Nami is smiling at him - THE WORLD IS ALL RIGHT ONCE MORE]

Ahhhh~ I'm glad you think so! You'll have to thank Miss Alice for it, though, and now I feel just terrible about not getting her a gift in turn. Or you! Or anybody, really.

Do you really like it? It does sort of put me in mind of tangerines and mandarins...

[It was good to see him in a better mood lately at least. The shop to restaurant conversion had been good.]

A gift from Miss Alice? Find her something special for New Years perhaps. I believe this cities new years day is coming up at the end of the week. Why not just one up the holiday and give her something to start the year off with? [She said it with a cheezy grin, much more her old self. She'd been letting this place get to her]

Tangerines are always good to have in thoughts... or in hand. [She turned the video to show the fruit basket she got for Christmas]

That's true. New Year's is a good time to make up for everything else. Maybe I'll open up the restaurant for a special night just for friends...

...where did you get that? [curious - and he might be heading across the restaurant to go see for himself, as amusing as it is to use the NVs from across the building]
