[At first the video feed is filled with darkness, an apparent malfunction. As the camera pans out, however, viewers will realize that it's focused on a piece of dark fabric. A piece of dark fabric with numerous rips and holes. It looks decidedly chewed on. Now Orpheus turns the camera towards himself.]Kurosaki! Look what your overgrown rat did ( Read more... )

Uh, yeah, there's some pretty fab ones down in Sector Five.

...

Although it looks like that thing is, like, not done, at all.

I'm sorry..."Not done"? I'm not sure what you mean?

But thank you for the suggestion. Perhaps I will check out the shops in Sector 5.

Has it gone, like, your shoes yet?

Just watch out for the price.

Yes, I'll be sure to.

[Here, have a vaguely amused sorcerer on the other end of the line.]

I'll be damned! People still fancy capes? That's pretty tacky.

My cape is not tacky!

The hell it isn't! Its the most tackiest thing I ever seen in my life. It actually looks better with a few tears in it.

This is uncalled for! It is...was a perfect lovely cape!

[Trying hard not to laugh.] I'm not sure where they might sell capes, but that is an adorable puppy you have.

It is not my puppy. It is the result of some sort of one-upmanship between my roommate and his friend.

[Another sigh]
But it is quite cute.

My little kitten gets into a lot of mischief too sometimes. He likes to chew on my ankle rings.

A kitten? How adorable! I left a cat, Simba, behind in my own world. I find a pet can really make you feel at home in a strange place.

Preferably a pet that is not "teething", as my roommate says.

Oh no! I'm sorry, Godzilla-chan is ... she's teething or something! I don't know, the book didn't cover her tearing up someone's cape!

I'll pay for your replacement --if you can't get it fixed. Can it be fixed?

No, don't worry about it. I feel better for having vented. It's just...what dogs do.

[Slightly mumbled] This is why I prefer cats.

Now that's an idea. Perhaps I can get it fixed. I did always like this fabric, and who knows if they have something similar in this city.

No no, I should... get a muzzle for Godzilla-chan. Or some training. Or something...

Just give me the bill when you've done whatever you decide to do with it, Orpheus. I'm really, really sorry she destroyed it! It was such a nice cape!

[Voice] Just don't put the moves on Orpheus, and he'll be fine... dr_byronorpheus March 1 2010, 01:52:40 UTC
If you insist. I'll try to get it repaired as affordably as possible.

It was such a nice cape, wasn't it? I'm glad you understand, unlike some others who have responded.

[laughs some] Next time just spray it with some lemon juice and he'll keep off it.

Lemon juice, you say? I will have to remember that once I get this cape repaired.

Yeah, dogs can't stand the taste of it. Too bitter.

What're you doing with a cape anyway?

Why do I have a cape?

Well, it's...just what I wear.
