The holidays put everyone in such a sweet mood, don't they? Today a man didn't want to sell me any hot chocolate but the woman on line behind me bought it for me. I think she was a local too. It was very nice of her.
Did you know that today is the solstice? We used to make a celebration of it at home, though I think ours were a liiittle more spaced out than Canada's. Still, isn't it nice to have the same kind of holiday in different worlds? We used to stay up all night and have drinks and food and play games and wait for the sun to come up. I think it'll just be me doing it this year.
[A brief sigh. That's the closest she'll come to alluding to Fang's disappearance; its just too painful to say more. And since the solstice is her holiday, Vanille's gift recipients will be getting their present today. Assume she came door to door to deliver them, unless she couldn't find you. Then she simply mailed them out and hoped for the best.]
