I know I'm a few days late but--I can't believe it's December already! Woah, time passed by so fast! [ A thoughtful pause. ] Too fast.

[ The sound of people chattering would be heard from a distance, clearly he's not indoors. He never is, really! ]So, what are your plans for Christmas and new year? Since we're far away from home and our families, ( Read more... )

Well--

Mostly parties, exchanging gifts, decorating your place--stuff like that!

...a hassle. [Such a scrooge.]

Why is 'Christmas' so special? [She can understand the 'new year' just by it's name, but this one... the kids were doing all sorts of weird 'tree' crafts for it.]

It is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. You might think only Christians celebrate this holiday, but it's pretty spread out around the world and many none-Christians celebrate it as well.

Why is it so special? [ He hums in consideration. ] I guess all the decorations excites people!

This whole "Christmas" thing is new to me, so doing anything at all for it would be different. Don't have any particular plans for New Year's, which is something I'm going to have to remedy, especially since once midnight strikes, it doubles as my birthday.

If that's the case, you'll have to plan something very special.

Do you have any idea what you'd like to do? --Or receive as a gift?

A friend of mine used to like suprising me with some pretty crazy stuff. But seeing as he's not here . . .

I'm really a social girl, at heart. No matter what, I'm not going to be spending it alone. As for gifts, I find that specifying anything ruins some of the fun; I like surprises.

[ So much for getting ideas on what to get her. ]

Define 'crazy stuff'.

They are! And yours might show up soon, too. Did you try wishing on the first star in the night sky? That always works in picture books.

It is a beautiful gesture. Unfortunately, it never works.

Besides, I wouldn't want them to be here.

Overtime...

But that's mostly so that my coworkers with families, who celebrate a sentimental holiday, can enjoy it.

Ah. You don't usually celebrate Christmas?

I haven't before. Why start, when it's more important to other people?

If your friends are celebrating it, wouldn't you feel left out?

You'll have plenty of time to do that!

We only get to celebrate the holidays once a year.
