[The sirens have sounded; it's nighttime. At first, nothing is visible on the video transmission. The screen is completely black, though the sound is working well enough. Scraping. Short, repetitive noises... Like something is being gnawed. There’s a brief pause in the noise, and suddenly the NV’s camera picks up on several rows of glinting teeth;

[Raphael is making his nightly rounds to check for the poor newcomers who end up coming after sirens. He's flying quietly from building to building, keeping an eye on activity on the ground.

During one stop, he notices a creature. This, in itself, isn't anything unusual after sirens. He's not sure he's seen one like this before, though. Being slow and quiet in his movements, he lands on the ground a fair distance away from the unidentified beast.]

[This unidentified beast doesn't notice the new presence right away; he's far too busy gnawing on the mechanical device in his mouth. After a few moments, though, there's a flare of nostrils as the dragon catches hold of a new scent. Instantly he perks up, letting out a whuff of air as he glances around. Where are yooou.]

[The angel has no reason to fear. If this creature is dangerous, he can escape easily. But something about it tells him it's not one of the usual horrors who appear at dark. As is his nature, he'll casually wave at the dragon.]

Evening, fella. You're not from around here, are you?

[What... What is that. It looks human but.. but there are feathers sprouting from its back. Toothless blinks, utterly befuddled. Wide eyes glance from face to wing and back again, unsure. His NV? That's sliding out of his mouth and hitting the ground.]

[ It's always a bad idea to walk out and about in the middle of the night, but the princess seriously didn't seem to be afraid of it. She's practically setting herself up for failure again. Ishtar's stubborn nature never dies, apparently. The girl continued to walk silently in the nighttime, trying to avoid any unnecessary contact with the beasts that haunt the night. She kept hearing noises on her NV on the way back from doing a little job too long. She looked at it confused. ]

Huh...?

[ ooc: Ishtar carries a Holy Vampire Slaying Sword named Sidia just a note cuz you asked. XD ]

{OOC: sob he's not gonna like that if they end up running into each other. XD}

[Those noises? They stop momentarily. And there's a biiig inquisitive eye peering at Ishtar from her NV screen now.]

[ But she's completely harmless and she loves animals. She won't stick a sword at him... it'll just be there :[ ]

[ Ishtar blinked. Something moved in the darkness. The princess looked a bit confused. Was something there? She waited a second before speaking through the NV ]

Anyone there?

[WOAH HIS CHEWTOY TALKED.

Startled, the dragon jumps back, crashing into a nearby trashcan and causing the thing to topple over. Whoops.]

[It's two sharp claps that announce Gin's arrival. Or maybe that should be "announce Gin's announcement of himself"? ... Whatever the case, he's obviously trying to get the beast's attention. After all, it tends to be the bigger monsters that are the most fun to instigate, and it never takes much more than a sudden loud noise to get the attention of the creatures of the Darkness.]

[... Because a big, black dragon is totally spawned by the Darkness, right?]

[Attention, get! Toothless' head jerks up at the sudden sounds and he whirls to face Gin, NV clamped in his jaws. His eyes narrow, trying to decide this oddly-dressed human's intentions. Slowly, one foot takes a step forward, then another...

And then Toothless is bristling, letting out a low growl. He doesn't think he likes you, sorry.]

... Ohh, normally they run at me by now. Come on, come on! I know you see me~!

[Ohhh, he sees you, all right. But he's not going to get any closer, nor is he going to turn and run when he might be attacked from behind.

Uttering another growl, Toothless rises up on his hind legs, fanning his wings out. Look how big and scary he is. Go on. Shoo.]

[Alex is out, like he is every night. Making his way across the rooftops, searching for something to eat.

He catches some movement below. One of the monsters... chewing on an NV. Was that an NV? Either way, he hadn't seen any of the creatures interact with anything so far. They always seemed to be set on just roaming the streets, looking for victims.

Just watched it from above for now.]

(OOC: Alex isn't carrying any weapons, but he himself is basically a living weapon? He can make his arms into claws and blades and.. stuff.)

{OOC: Well, Toothless at least shouldn't mind unless those arms go sharp and pointy. XD;}

[Yep, that's an NV. Toothless drops the thing out of his mouth, stares at it for a moment..... And then he's pouncing on it, pawing with claws.

Can you blame him? The blinking light is hypnotizing!]

[And Alex just stares. Is that thing playing with it? He can't say he's ever seen one of the monsters acting like this.

He drops from the rooftop and lands nearby, in the shadow of the building.]

[Yes, he's having a glorious time playing with the nice light.

Or he was. Until his sensitive hearing picks up on something jumping down nearby. Perking up, the dragon turns towards the source of the sound, staring into the shadows, waiting for any other sounds or a hint of movement.]

[Nelliel is out exploring, now that she knows what's what and she has something resembling her old Espada uniform on instead of the green scraps she came in wearing. Her sword is sheathed at her hip, although perhaps the oddest thing about the woman is that it looks like she has the skull of a ram on her head. She stands out in the night, though, wearing mostly white.

She watches the creature silently for a minute before realizing that he's actually just playing. She can't quite stop herself from letting out a quiet little giggle. It's sort of cute watching the creature play like that, and she's certainly seen scarier.]

[Toothless turns at the sound of that laugh.. And instantly stiffens. A skull on her head and a weapon in plain sight? That sets off warning bells in Toothless' mind. With a warning rumble the dragon starts easing himself sideways, intending to slip off into the shadows.]

[Nelliel is briefly confused, then she realizes her weapon - even sheathed, might be intimidating. Her body language is quite slow, deliberate, and passive as she holds up her hands to show she's not attacking]

I'm not here to hurt you. Please don't feel you have to leave. I just noticed that you were having fun.

[Hnn.. It doesn't look like she's aggressive, but Toothless isn't about to get buddy-buddy with her just because of that. Still wary, he slinks back to where he'd dropped his NV, picking the "toy" up in his mouth again.]
