[ He knows. He knows that this is not where he intended to go, not where his footsteps should have taken him across the void; he knows. There is a power here -- some great, malefic thing made manifest through unknown means -- that is keeping him in place, that is trying to control. His face is a mask of indifference, but his tone is one of subtle ( Read more... )

It is who I am, yes.

Will you be the first to try and refute the claim?

[It's the 'Yahweh' that first gets his attention - not a word he hears often, outside of Jewish circles. And those...have been a life time or twenty ago, or so it seems, and so he watches the video. Why not, his children run around with THOR.]

[When he speaks, his voice carries no real accent - too muddled by way of Germany, to Poland, to the Ukraine, through almost all of Eastern Europe, to Israel, and so many since, even if Germany laid the foundation for his speech] Then is it perhaps best that some of us no longer believe the stories we were taught as children.

Atheism does not mean that they will not believe in you.

[...why yes, he's THAT arrogant] Less atheist and more agnostic.

And plenty have believed in me. Doesn't mean their faith has been rewarded.

More point still stands. Faith -- both the having and the denying of -- is an exercise in futility; the Multiverse has, and will remain what it has always been long before you and I are gone.

[Wow. There's a theatricality about this gentleman that reminds him of The Count. His pattern of speech is a little less formal, though. Franz knows what this - this person is talking about, naturally. His own skeptical nature aside, growing up in Paris meant growing in the shadow of the church. Parables and the like could hardly be avoided.

But if what this individual is saying is true, isn't he just another person who likes to hear himself talk?

Franz makes no attempt to hide the fact he's not impressed. Not that he's not wary, even a little bit afraid of the guy - he'd be stupid not to be.

Even having seen the Darkness himself, Franz knows from experience it's the ones that have smiles and genteel mannerisms that are truly dangerous.]

...All that considered, my guess is you're as stuck here as the rest of us.
