Has anyone seen a Miss Rukia Kuchiki lately? Or Kuchiki Rukia as she would likely introduce herself to you, given her heritage. She was supposed to meet me the past two nights to assist me in my work but hasn't shown and is not responding to messages. Although I've only known her a short while, shirking her duties does not seem to be in her ( Read more... )

You know that's rather strange, I haven't really seen her in quite some time either. You don't think something could have happened to her do you?

That's what I'm afraid of.

Are you perhaps her room mate good sir? I don't remember if I remember you, but I blame the lack of a brain. Yohohoho!

No, she is from my roommate's world and was assisting me in my work. He seems to believe she has returned home.

Excuse me. If you don't mind my asking, are you a skeleton?

I think Rukia-chan went home, Orpheus.

Can you sense this kind of thing? Know when other Shinigami are nearby?

While I'm sorry to see her go, she seemed like a lovely girl, I must say it's better than the alternative.

Yes, I can sense most other people that have some sort of spiritual presence. Most Shinigami can do that.

And hers disappeared, so I'm pretty sure she went home.

Well, I hope that better things await her there than she could hope to find here.

Miss Rukia? She's missing?

...well, shit.

My roommate is almost certain she has returned home. He says he can sense these things. The idea that nothing more unsavory has befallen her is CERTAINLY A COMFORT.

...oh? Wait, so, it is possible to return home? How?

Sometimes people simply disappear. Thinking that they have gone home is partly wishful thinking, but we also know there is some truth to it because some have returned to the city telling of their time back in their own worlds.

Rukia? Crap. Maybe Kenny can find her? I'll admit I don't understand their abilities.

Yes, these Shinigami are certainly a mystery. But Kurosaki tells me that she has gone home.

[A sigh]

I'm both glad and sorry to hear that. I liked her.

It is the double-edged sword of learning that someone has returned home. We miss their presence, but we don't truly wish more time in this world upon them.

Sounds like she left. Probably for the better?

Yes. When someone leaves here, we can always hope they've gone on to better things back home.
