Somehow I'm not sure that Ciel's up to the challenge of reading me a romance, so someone else- If you have a favorite love story, tell it to me. Or at least tell me what it is. The ending doesn't have to be happy. --But it does have to have an ending. Nothing unfinished. Uh, in exchange I'll tell you a story too.

One more thing. Say you're teaching ( Read more... )

[He's already in his nightgown for the evening.]

Hello, Nana. Names... That could be good.

When Nana finished learning her letters, Nana learned how to write Nana's name first and the names of the people Nana loves the most.

You want to read love stories?

Isn't that what I just said?

Most of them are rubbish.

I didn't ask you whether or not they're rubbish. If I want to hear a rubbish story I'll hear a bleeding rubbish story.

That's why I couldn't ask you, I knew what you'd say.

I think tragedies are more common in love stories, aren't they?

The only love stories I know are the ones I've been part of.

[He chuckles for a moment, but he'll tell one of the stories of he and a target anyway.]

There was a kid at one of Germany's religous schools who thought he loved God and nobody else. He thought it was wrong to love anyone else, or to be attracted to someone, especially another man. So when he met me, and I thought he was cute, he asked if I was a demon sent to steal him away from God. I'm just a human, though, and I showed him that sometimes, loving another person is better than loving God. People are right here, after all, and what's God but some asshole who says we can't be with people if they're another man?

Eduard, that's the kid's name, had to work to stop hating himself for what he felt, but once he did, he felt comfortable admitting he loved me more than some God. I think he ended up quitting the church school to be just a normal 19 year old who finally likes him all because he found out he could love.

Good. The way religion tells it is all bullshit anyway, I can't stand it. It pisses me off just to think about it-

Perhaps you could teach them your name, and the things and people important to you?

[Nightgowned boy.]

That's a good idea and I think I'll have them learn my name straight away.

Go slowly. They will learn easier if you are patient with them.

Are you teaching them how to speak, as well?

No, they do that fine. I'll be patient, though.
