[ A confused, confused silver haired woman is on the NV screen, holding some pieces of paper. That paper is easily recognizable as that elusive thing called money. And all she's wearing is the cloak that the Greeters gave her when she arrived - don't worry, she's still all covered up

It's a matter of trade. Money has a specific value - you'll see it written on the notes. When you see something marked as being for sale for a lesser or equal value to the money, you can give it to a shopkeeper in exchange for that item. Or you can use it for rent, if that's your situation.

Value...? [ She looks at the notes in her hands. Lesser or equal value. Buh. ] Where can one find such a merchant? And this ... "Rent" you speak of. It is for the boxlike structures, yes?
Reply
Yes, that's right. Rent is the term for paying for the use of them.
[A sigh.]
Hold one of the notes flat. You'll notice a number on them.
[...wait, if she doesn't know what money is, does she know how to read?]

I see. [ She... hasn't even been staying in them. ._. ] Number?
[ As a matter of fact, she does not know how to read. She only gets by on text entries via the network, since magic...er..magically translates it for her. Sort of. Still she stares at the notes for a few minutes, totally non comprehending. ]
This symbol? [ Pointing at the number, because she reasons that a face is not a number. Obviously. ]
Reply
...that's correct.
[Poor soul. He's known others like her in that front, so he'll avoid snapping at her for it. He nods.]
Yes, that's right. That symbol tells you how much it's worth.

It will grow cold soon. I suppose it will become necessary to clothe myself for that, at least. [ Even if it is only for the morning. ]

[His tone is lightly joking.]
Listen. If you don't understand the money properly - and the value of it - it's best to go shopping with someone you trust. Find one of your friends and have them help you until you learn the basics of it.

Perhaps that would be more convenient, then. [ Another pause at the advice -- which is a problem, because she doesn't really know anyone in this place all that well yet. The only one she's spoken to any length of time was a skeleton, and while he seemed to know undergarments, she doubted he knew womens clothing, and Claire - who didn't know she also was human. Hrm. ]
I will ... take your advice, sir. I thank you.

[...she's screwed.]
[Liquid is honestly a little curious about this strange woman, but decides not to ask.]

... Do you know where I may find proper lodging? Those tall boxes... they are not ...suitable for my needs. [ She's loathe to admit it too. Staying in something like a barn ...ugh. Barns are for HORSES, damnit. ]

What do you need?
Reply
I do not require a great deal. Any manner of shelter to weather colder months - provided the shelter has a wide doorway and no stairs.

[Damn, if the warehouse wasn't secret, he could offer to let her stay there. He'd need to discuss that later once they decided what they were doing.]
Reply
Yes. Merely for the duration of the winter - I will have no need of it when the weather turns warm again.

You will? That is very kind of you, sir, I thank you. What is your name?
