As ever, condolences to the new arrivals. If you've need of money, contact me; I administer a common fund for newcomers, into which a great many contribute. Likewise, if you're ever in trouble, speak up. Our society is tenuous, but it is a society nevertheless; we do cooperate with one another.

That's a pretty strong topic for debate, Mr. Edgeworth.

Such "strong" topics are the only ones worth debating.

I'm sure there's other things that can be debated that aren't as serious, but... Well, to answer your question, I'm not sure if my parents instilled "good" and "evil" in me. I think someone, or something, that's truly evil would probably be something that is knowingly hurting someone or something else and has no remorse for doing so.

What if it were someone who knowingly hurt another and did feel remorse? Someone who lacked control over his or her actions?

Everyone's getting deep lately.

Is there something wrong with that?

No, just an observation. I feel like I've already answered most of these questions at some point this week, though.

Apologies for the redundancy, then. I'll not compel you to answer mine.

You may be surprised to know that I actually do have a set system of morality for my own self.

I am not surprised, Ms. Kurookano. Will you speak on it?

I am actually quite the promise-keeper. And I don't lie very often.

What will bring you to lie?

Well. I feel like you know the answers to most of those questions already.

Doubt many people know where their 'morality' comes from. [An amused noise.] I just sorta figured it out myself. When we were kids, Aki'd be sure to let me know when I fucked up.

As for good an' evil... I'd say intent, but that only goes so far.

Any reason for this, or you just bored?

Merely thinking.

If commits an act with an evil intent but still ends up helping someone, is it an evil act nevertheless?

Right. Perks up discussion here at least.

What, like killing someone for their wallet, but the guy who died was going to kidnap some kids the next day? [pause.] Not like the guy was trying to save 'em. So sure, there's just some good side effects no one'll know about.

Or perhaps something more direct. Draining the funds from a corporation which would have used those funds for ill.
