[Ken's currently standing in the cooler of the flower shop, 'cause it's nice in here dammit. Talking with Kia got him thinking never a good thing, but here goes. He opens with a cheerful grin, happy voice.]Okay, here's a question for everyone. It's too damn hot for it right now, but that just means more time to get the word out ( Read more... )

It's a game, played with two teams. There's a large, grassy pitch with goals on either end. The goal of the game is to get the ball into the other team's goal, without using your hands. The goals are guarded by the team as a whole, and also goalkeepers--one on each team. They're the only players allowed to use their hands, but they have to stay by their goal.

Whoever scores the most points wins. That's the game in a nutshell.

...people should know you have a history of breaking your promises to teach soccer.

[only the best game ever.]

It's a game, played with two teams on a large pitch--there's a goal on either end of the field, there's points scored by moving the ball into the opposing team's goal. Players can't use their hands, except for the two guarding the goals.

Is it played underwater? Is it fun? Can I play?

...no, it's not played underwater.

[how would that even work? Ken looks utterly baffled by that idea. Even he knows the very basics of biology and physics--you can't breath underwater, and trying to kick a ball through water would end up with ball not going anywhere. Plus, a soccer ball is filled with air. It'd float.]

But yeah, it's fun. Pretty much the best game ever. And of course you can play, that's why I'm asking.

When would you start it up? It sounds fun.

When it doesn't feel like the surface of the bloody sun outside. That's just asking for trouble.

Wanna play?

I'd really want to! A lot! Rea-- ... Er, I mean...

Sure! Though-- you'd have to teach me.

That's fine, you're not the only one. I don't mind at all.

Soccer? [Thinking about his schedule.]

When would you want to start playing?

Whenever it finally cools down. Running around outside in this heat isn't the best idea--it's just asking for people to get dehydrated and sick.

[even if it means delaying soccer. Ken managed to reorganize his priorities somewhat.]

Probably a week or two. Longer, if the weather doesn't break.

That's fine. It's just for fun, so even if you can't make it one week, it's alright. Just come when you can.
