[The voice comes on, and it's half muffled - like some jackass has his thumb half over the speaker and doesn't realize it. And there's talking.]
No, I am fine. Really! [It sounds like... someone else is panicking. A lot. And the closer speaker is just irritated.] There's no reason to be freaking out like this. It's just blood. Y- alright, so it's

/The monsters are only an issue if you plan to be out at night. I would not take them lightly, if only due to their numbers. For every one you kill, a dozen more pop up. There are too many different types to explain them all quickly. Despite this, they are little more than an annoyance if you are prepared. Your revolver will be effective against some, not all of them, but it makes more sense to save the bullets. The more dangerous ones are rarer. Fewer appear to exist on the rooftops, but if they get a sense of someone being up there, more will come. They avoid internal areas, from what I've seen. Some type of protection is on the buildings./

Staying out of the dark is a no-go. I'll get some intel on what to expect out there, get some preparations up, and take my chances. Not now, though. Sometime later. I usually charge for risking my neck.
[Sound of a match being struck. Dammit he needs to smoke.]
Let's talk market, M. Stranger. What's the career outlook for a professional mercenary in this hellhole?

[There's the faint sound of writing in the background, but apart from that, there's silence other than his voice.]
Those two are pretty secretive. You'd probably need to find out more from one of their followers.

[The writing piques his interest, but only because he's a little delirious from the shellshock of arriving. And switching from dead to alive all over again, and maybe a little blood loss too.]
Digging up info I'm not supposed to know? My specialty. Though I tend to not give two shits about whatever the sides of a war are actually fighting about, so any work that doesn't pay well is out of the question. Jingoism doesn't look good on me.
[And another nice long drag.]
How about people? Who's friendly and who would want to chop me up and feed me to their Rottweilers?

There's quite a few chronic philanthropists around here. Far too many people to count, and it's hard to tell how many are actually honestly good and how many would stab you in the back in a heartbeat. But of course, the risk is half of the thrill. The only ones I'm entirely sure of would be Otacon or Tamaki Suou. Perhaps Big Boss, but don't tell anyone I said that. Miles Edgeworth is another good person, but rather awkward to negotiate with. Be prepared for arguments. He doesn't like people seeing things differently to the way he does. Most of the young ones are relatively trustworthy as well, although I wouldn't treat any of them as innocents - child soldiers exist here as everywhere ( ... )

[Seriously what is this guy writing, it is driving him insane.]
I'm kind of an asshole, so I might make some good enemies pretty quickly. And I try not to approach people in clown makeup as a rule of thumb, so nothing to worry about there. [Another long exhale.] Anything else I should know, or can I pick it all up from here?

No, you seem to have the basics down, at least.

Good. Maybe I'll make it through my first month.

There is no "maybe". You are a soldier, correct? You will be fine.
