[There is a view of the dark haired girl in two pony tails of curls… sitting at her kitchen table. On the table is a bundle of dirty denim cloth and white cotton wrapped around a small puppy. It can’t be more then two weeks old.]

I… [am still at a lack of what to say]There was this woman at work the last three or four days who kept coming in to ( Read more... )

It looks like you're taking care of it.

But... I don't know the first thing about taking care of puppies... [And she doesn't want to effect it by keeping it...]

Just feed it, I guess.

Yes, I know you feed it but that's not the prob-- [Have a small girlish frustrated grumble here] I mean... what do you feed a puppy? It's so small. Does it eat normal food yet?

It... is rather cute. It's so small.

But you don't think you can care for him? Why?

[An excuse, and excuse... hmm]

Animals and I don't seem to get along very well. I'm worried I might hurt it. It's so tiny...

Will it eat?

I... don't know. It really hasn't moved much. It's alive but... what if it's sick? Or too young to eat normal food?

A vet would know.

That's a good idea. I... should look up a vet. But I need to find someone who might do well with a puppy too... I don't think I can keep it.

I'll find a few books for you.

O-Oh... I didn't even think about that. Which really is silly seeing as I work in a book store, isn't it? Though I don't think it would hold anything of help. I'd be really grateful for the information, Edgeworth-san. Do... you like dogs?

I, ah...Yes. I...have one at home.

Really? [Oh... there is a smile in her voice for the first time in a bit] You must miss him... her? What kind of dog?

I used to have a few dogs while I was in Romania. Most dogs aren't really picky eaters. I fed mine meat.

I would think meat would be okay, but it looks a bit young right now. Someone else mentioned milk... and a vet. So I'm looking into that if no one else can take him. He's so tiny... I can't tell if he has teeth yet or not...

In the wild, dogs don't have much choice with what they eat. But as you say, yes... he doesn't look like a puppy ready to take in solid food. He should have been kept with his mother until he has been weaned.

And it seems that you would have to play the mother for a while.

[She's pulling up a dirty scrap of letter, frowning] She said here that the rest of the litter and the mother were taken by Darkness. This was the only one left. Just two weeks old it says.

The problem is... I... don't think I'll be very good at playing mother for something so small...
