The Shadow is usually a part of you that you're trying to hide from other people. If you acknowledge that the Shadow is a part of you that you hide, it will calm down.

You have to mean it. Shadows can tell if you truly accept them or not.

...I'm not sure about telepathic, but Shadows technically are the same person. They know your motivations, your fears, your thought processes...They just display an overexaggerated part of a person that they don't want others to usually see.
