[The NV is propped up on something that gives a sweeping view of rooftops and Serrure in profile. Light fades as night is coming on and he's seated on the edge of a building's roof, feet dangling over. There's no worry in his face, just a pensive expression and he speaks as though to himself, though the words are obviously meant for an audience]How ( Read more... )

Getting through one week is hard enough in this place. [pauses] But yeah. I do. I want to stop crawlin' around at the bottom of society like human trash. Make a worthwhile life.

[The confidence and firmness in his voice is strangely offset by the vagueness of his reply. There's no 'how' or end point or even a definition to it; rather than a plan, it seems to be a distant, idealistic concept.

Kaiji pauses again, then frowns.]

... definitely gonna be a short career if you plan on announcing it to everyone.

How are you crawling around at the bottom of society? Are you a criminal or something?

[No judgement in his tone, Serrure is a thief, after all. He's simply curious as to why someone would consider themselves human trash.]

I don't plan on doing it here, obviously.

Ah- [Kaiji flushes guiltily. Why did he have to ask that?] I... I'm not a criminal, I just- I- [indeterminate, sulky, blustery noise] I-It's none of your business, okay?!

[He clears his throat.]

Well, yeah. Obviously. Why would you want to be a thief, though?

[Holds up his hands in a gesture of surrender, though it's obvious he's trying not to laugh] H-hey man, you're the one that gave that impression!

[Leans into the camera to say conspiratorially]And you answered my question, so it is kinda my business.

[A very French shrug] It's fun. A challenge, you know? And I'm good at it.

Most have plans...some are simple; others' span to eclipse the entirety of their existence.

Which one are you? Simple or span to eclipse...yeah, what you said.

More profound than most may fathom.

Mm. Care to elaborate or shall I have to guess?

One should always have a plan - whether its short or long term. Preferably at least one of each, with each carefully reviewed for any potential alterations and changes.

[Because that's what being a Turk is. Carefully planning out each aspect of a mission or goal, figuring out what deviations could occur and how to react to ensure the objective is completed.]

And, of course, the plans I have for myself are for both here and when I return home. Though I'm afraid they aren't as....luxurious as yours.

Well, what are your plans?

[He smiles winsomely and laces his fingers together in his lap]

Here and at home, if you don't mind. You seem quite normal- not meant as an insult- so I'm curious.

Ahaha, no insult taken.

[She leans back, left arm crossing over her middle, her right elbow resting in the cup of her hand. Fingers of her right hand gently touch at the collar of her blouse.]

For here, I have my shop. I intend to see it remain successful and to teach people how to proper use, shoot, and carry their firearms. As for at home...[There's a slight smirk.] I have a very important job I have to return to. I'm not getting paid for this unapproved absence.

Oh! Are you some kind of secret agent back in your world or something? [A charming smile] I promise I won't tell anyone if you tell me!

[Then a pause] But how did you know what you want to do? Or...or what you should do?

Unfortunately my future plans involve going home. Once I get home, things will continue on as they have been.

And you?

You'll just live the same life and do the same things forever and ever until you die? Seems kinda boring. What do you do, anyway?

Master jewel thief. It sounds like fun.

If we die...

Yes, that's pretty much it. But, it's not really a life, more like an existence. It's hard to explain.

Excuse me. I still prefer it to here.

If you die? Are you immortal? Huh. Well. I don't get it. But that's okay. Lots of things I don't get, especially here.

To your world? I don't know, it's a tossup for me. In some ways. Why do you like your world better? Family and stuff there?

[Oh now what an interesting man. Ukyou happened upon his video post while scanning the network in his boredom.]

I have myself a great many plans. For the future both here and my home land.

[Ukyou was seen to be lazing upon a fine fabric draped couch. It looked plush and expensive too. He was being fed grapes dangled above him by two beautiful Geisha. A cock sure expression over his face.]

A jewel thief? Why bother with France, North~ South~ East or whatever~

[Waving a hand about and pausing as he took a drink of wine from a glass held for him by another Geisha.]

You could pawn your precious gems and buy you're own small county, given you know the right buyer.

[He'd puff up if he knew the other guy thought of him as a man. Serrure is thirteen, perhaps fourteen, but there is something much, much older about his mannerisms and his eyes.]

Are you really, really important in your homeland? Maybe royalty. You look kind of like someone who would be royal.

[He looks away at the women, eyes slightly wide, because that seems kind of intimate, feeding someone like that, giving them wine. He's not sure if he should be witness to the scene, though the man obviously wants to be watched.]

Because France is my home and I like the country. Plus they have the best jewels, in my opinion.

[He purses his mouth, then tips his head, sneaking a glance back up at the NV] I plan on pawning them. Once I get around to stealing them.

[Ukyou was only four, maybe five years older than Serrure himself, but yes, he believed the teen to be older, simply from the way in which he held himself in conversation.]

Why I'm flattered that someone actually recognized me~ I'm an Emperor. Emperpr Ukyou to be exact.

[The women were dabbed Ukyou's mouth with napkins and pulled his long blue hair back over his shoulders. Of course Ukyou was always like this, he liked to show off and his woman were seen to be respectable so there was no harm done in flaunting them.]

So you'd steal from your own country? I say~ And so what is your opinion of the jewels here?

[Ukyou noticed Serrure looking, it made him smile slyly.]

Well I wish you the best of luck in that. Shall I keep my eyes peeled for a bounty upon your head?

I wouldn't think it's that hard to consider you royalty your Emperorship. I mean, you look rich. And you've got people - uhm - uh - serving you. [Maybe just a hint of entendre, especially at the mouth wiping.]

It's not like I run the country. I'd steal from the wealthy people in it. They've got more than enough, and it'd probably be a big challenge. You know, alarm systems, locks, dropping down from the ceiling on rope, things like that.

Though I haven't seen many jewels here. I'm trying to keep a low profile for now. Sort of.

[He looks away at being seen looking, because weird]

I'm too good to have a bounty on my head, the whole point of being a master jewel thief is to not be known or caught, after all.
