[His voice is calm, but darkened by the grim subject matter.] He stopped the trains already. Probably without even trying.

I don't think words like demon and angel matter. He's a monster.

But a human monster is an entirely different matter from a supernatural one, and in this place that matters even more.

So I'll ask again; what manner of thing is your Rail Tracer? [Naoya's voice is smooth and almost pleasant, but there's an unmistakeably predatory edge to it. If Rail Tracer is ultimately human, well, humans are easy to manipulate.

If it isn't...if it's contractable...Then it's an advantage he can't pass up.]

[ The article in the news had caught Claire's eye but hearing Czeslaw's voice mentioning it, along with two of his own names, still catches him by surprise. He crosses the room quickly to where his NV is playing automatically on a sideboard, and follows the rest of the video closely. Czeslaw making a move like this was unexpected. So was the mention of that first network post: he hadn't considered that the immortal would have seen that. The network reached rather more people than he'd imagined back when he first arrived; maybe in hindsight those names hadn't been the best form of introduction. Maybe he should have predicted from the boldness Czeslaw had occasionally demonstrated here that he'd pull something like this when the chance arose.

Well, no use crying over spilt milk. He scans through the other comments (making a mental note to buy Firo a drink), pauses at the "Private" button, then passes over it, switching the feed on and raising one hand at it in greeting. ]

[Czeslaw turns the NV on, but only to the voice function. He has the device sitting a distance away from him - if he were to admit it, he would say it was because he is afraid to see Claire's face.]

[ He snorts and leans back, casually reaching for something off-camera. ] You're slanderin' me all over a public broadcast, what do you expect me to do? Sit back and wait for Batman to come knocking?

How was I supposed to know you'd be th- that prideful.

But I don't think you'd be lucky enough to see someone like Batman coming. [At least, he hopes not. Czeslaw expressed fears that he genuinely has - that Claire is completely unstoppable.]

[He's saw it too, and this first had been Vino. The video Czeslaw had posted had only sped his reaction, feet light and silent.]

[Czes jumps a little when he hears Erik's voice. He's pallid and sweating, but he manages to squeak out a laugh.]

H-hi Erik.

[He slows his movement, walking over slowly to sit beside Czeslaw, handing him a handkerchief to dry off, easily looping his arm around his smaller friend.]

[It takes a few tries to get his voice to work, and he mops his brow.]

I really didn't expect to be this afraid. But last time I saw him, he said he was keeping an eye on me.

He said he means to be my conscience... Why is he killing?
