I see. So this is how it works... [ the loud, static-y sound of someone brushing a hand over the microphone is heard before he speaks again, sounding calm, and collected (unlike he had been when he first awoke). ]Hello, Siren's Port. My name is Eraqus, and it appears I will be joining you here for a time. Due to this, I'd like to know as much as ( Read more... )

[She guessed it made sense in a way. Where a teacher goes, students usually follow, only this was in reverse. Though she can vaguely recognize his voice, Naminé does recall his name. Those Keybearers will be pleased, but it's a bit daunting to be around someone considered a wise master.]

Terra is here and in this city.

[ it takes him a few minutes to find the text setting, so his reply takes a few minutes.

Terra is here. he's not sure if he's more relieved or concerned. ]

I see. Do you know where he's been staying?

[No worries wise old master guy! She's got plenty of patience, but feels like sticking to a little bit of anonymity for now.]

I'm sure the location exactly, but it's a house he's been staying with a friend of his.

I'm sure he'll find you soon.

Would you know the name of his friend?

I hope to find him first.

[Xion's busy making a pot pie for dinner and is covered with flour and stuff, so she'll be making this a voice post.]

Well, there's all kinds of monsters out in the Darkness here; people usually just stay inside to keep safe, or sometimes we go out and fight them if it's bad.

But Terra's okay, don't worry! How do you know him?

It doesn't pursue them indoors? [ that's unusual behavior for darkness. ]

I am his teacher. [ the simplest answer. ]

Oh, you're Master! You've come back! Oh they're going to be so happy to see you-

[Wait, she's not answered his question. Okay, we'll get to that.]

The houses have got Darkness proofing, it's not like the Darkness in our world, as long as you're indoors somewhere after the sirens you'll be okay.

'Come back'? [ he doesn't remember being here before. ]

It sounds like a very useful protection. It's never failed?

It's always tryin' to attack people, I think. Most of the buildings here got some kind of protection thing goin' on though so the monsters can't get inside. Also, the sirens warn people when the Darkness is gonna fall for the night 'n when it ends.

[Then he pauses. Terra... Terra... Oh! That guy!]

You mean the guy with the really weird pants? Yeah, he's here.

They can detect its presence?

...Weird pants? [ Terra's pants are not weird. ]

It's more of a... set-thing, dude. The Darkness shows up at night but it's really nasty. The days are getting shorter though so that means the things that go bump in the night are out longer. Want my advice? Stay inside when they go off, don't run any water. I hear they mess with that, too.

Uh-huh. They're super poofy on the legs, kinda like MC Hammer pants! Except they're not as shiny or anything like that. I think they're called 'hack-a-mom' or something? At least that's what he said.

And what of those who still go out?

[ who in the World is MC Hammer? ] Hakama. They're called hakama.

[It would be that one of the first voices she hears while browsing about on the NV is one that nearly causes her to jump right out of her own skin.]

[Thankfully, the only thing in her hands at the time is the NV itself and she's not too terribly far from the nearest chair... the couch in the living room, which she slowly sinks into.

Is there a replay button? Some way to review what's already been heard?]

[If there is some way to replay a voice transmission, it's lost on Aqua. ... Like much of the technology involved with the NV. It certainly doesn't help that she's been neglectful of reviewing the device's capabilities. She's just been so distracted with...

Taking a moment to gather an array of scattered thoughts, she recomposes herself. Or... you know, tries, at least.]

[There are rules for what's going to take place when she responds.
No complicated questions.
No unnecessary tangents.
No sugar-coating -- that would be an insult.
But most importantly... ... no tears.]

If you want to know about the Darkness, you should read Darwin's guide. You can get to it right over the NV...

And I see everyone else beat me to it, about Terra.

Darwin's guide? I'm afraid I'm still figuring out how to navigate these NVs.

I suppose I should not be surprised he's well known.

Yeah. Search for it- "Darwins Guide to the Darkness" It'll come right up. All the monsters, and surviving tips, and everything.

Terra's got good friends. Why wouldn't he be?

I'll be sure to do so.

I wasn't aware of how long he'd been here.
