[ The interior of Yako's office is pretty much a familiar sight by now, since most of her posts seem to made from there. She seems to be having trouble with the camera, though, since the feed keeps jerking around. Curiously, the microphone seems to be filled with the sounds of... snuffling? ]

Ah! Don't chew on that! Hang on, Mr. Holmes--

[ Yako's ( Read more... )

[He just hopes that Rin doesn't see this in case she decides to adopt them all or something.]

Hey, uh, question!

Are you going to check into the backgrounds of the people you're giving these puppies away to? Some people can't be trusted around animals.

Well, it would be difficult to run an actual background check on the people who want to adopt one, but I wouldn't give any of the puppies away without meeting them first. [ Something of a reassuring smile, or her best go at one at least. ] I wouldn't let someone take a puppy if I weren't confident that they could take care of it.

[ And Yako considers herself a relatively decent judge of character, even if she's not about to say so out loud. ]

Those creatures are 'puppies'? [Yes she doesn't know what a puppy is. She's a mermaid, okok. 8| Mermaids don't know what puppies are.]

Yeah, they are. Or if you want to get more technical about it, they're baby dogs. [ If she's asking what a puppy is, she's probably not human. Or very, very sheltered. In Siren's Port, who can tell? ]

Baby dogs... [They're wiggly looking. Like seals. As she rests on the rock she's propped up on, she adjusts her NV, lifting her tail up out of the water briefly for a moment to drip water onto her back.]

They seem energetic.

[ And Yako doesn't even blink as the tail comes into view, although... ah. That explains a few things.

Wow, she really shouldn't be wondering about whether or not that tail would taste any good to eat. Focus, Katsuragi ]

Most young animals are. Playing is how they learn the skills they'll need when they're grown up.

Have you ever had a pet before?

[At first, Ivan disregarded this message, but later returned to it, watching the puppies. He couldn't help but be reminded of home, and, well, Sky High wouldn't have hesitated.]

How old do you think they are?

They're probably still quite young-- not much older than two months, at most. [ She's pretty confident about that assessment, for all that she's not had much experience with dogs. ]

[ Ah, this is someone else, isn't it...? ]

Yeah, they're quite the handful. I think they might actually be getting sleepy, though.

That's awfully kind of Mr. Holmes and you, Yako.

I'm just helping them find owners. Mr. Holmes is the one who brought them in!

It's still helping. How many of them?

Just four. [ And she drops her voice, so Sherlock (hopefully) won't notice: ] I think Mr. Holmes and his flatmate are probably going to get one.
