[ when the video starts, rabbit is standing in his room peering at a calendar, expression seeming a little startled, ears standing almost upright. he turns to the nv, pointing to the date, then pointing to the 26th. ]I just realized, but in sixteen days, I shall be a hundred-and-forty-six years old, I believe, if I've done the math correctly. [ the pink eyes narrow dangerously. ]

You'd best be. And when you do, I'd better not find you in a kitchen or we'll have words.

[ read: i'll scissor-kick you in the throat. ]

'First published'? Are you a character from a book?

Most people seem to assume at first that I'm the writer for some reason. Honestly, in what world does a rabbit write novels? [ a huff. ] Even in Wonderland that's a bit mad.

Oh, I just thought about it because you were talking about birthdays. But do you mean that you can't write at all?

Don't be silly, of course I can write. I simply don't write books. Imagine, a herald unable to write..

But you said you were published...

Yes. I was published in a book. Cheshire Cat gave me the manuscript, oh, ages ago when he first told me that I was just ink on a page.

A-A hundred-and-forty-six! That's... v-very impressive!

Well, many books are much older.

I... yes, that's true. But a person doesn't usually live quite as long as a book.

[ a pause. ]

I think you've misunderstood. What I mean to say is that I'm from a book. It's why I have lived so long-- speaking as a rabbit, that is.

[He looks a little bit eager.]

Are there many people that old, here?

[He's never been able to speak, his lips don't move, but the NV has been kind enough to give him a voice.]

Even older, I suppose.

[ a thoughtful ear twitch, folding his arms. ]

I'm given to understand that Jack is technically a century old, and then there's Duke Baskerville, who's supposed to be at least a few centuries in age. I've heard of death gods being here, as well, though I don't think I've spoken to any.

I've never... known anyone else.

[He is incredibly shy about admitting explicitly that he's about three centuries himself...]

Well, I'm certain you'll meet plenty of people here who've lived quite a long while. I've never met the Duke, myself, but Jack could introduce you if you're interested.
