Early Thursday morning, Newcomer, Actress and Co-manager of both Purgatory and the Felton theater, Jinx, was admitted to the hospital. She has been in the public eye recently due to being known as the first newcomer to be pregnant.

According to sources, she was rushed to the emergency room at Skye Medical due to complications with the pregnancy, and it seems as though she suffered a miscarriage. Jinx herself's condition is has been called unstable, last that they'd heard though details are unknown at the moment, and no one at Skye was willing to give a comment. The writer makes a note, in fact, that she was removed from the building multiple times when she asked to speak with a representative, and feels that they are being far too secretive on a matter that the public wishes to know about. Also, it's just very likely this woman, who if you look back through her work has only had a few sensationalist articles to her name that got any real notice, was probably making something of a nuisance of herself, as she is mentioned to have been unable to get comments in most of her past work as well.

Though the companies did make an effort to try and help the young woman, she did not acquiesce and the reporter remarks that one must wonder if that had a hand in her current hospitalization. She also adds that this whole situation has been an interesting case study in newcomer inclusion, and that, despite the tragedy, it might have been a good thing considering the unstableness of the newcomers and their obvious lack of a real permanent place in the Port.

-Creator of Xaeylin Drug Found!
Michelle Collins, 24, has stepped forward to claim responsibility for the drug. A woman with a genius intellect and two doctorates in medicine and chemistry, she graduated Hillsdale three years ago with her second degree. SERO, in turn, has offered Michelle a sign-on with the company so that they can control the drug itself and make sure that it doesn't get out of hand. "It was a side project gone awry," Collins admits. "I'm sorry that it hurt so many people. It wasn't supposed to do that." She will be working with SERO to concoct a much less hostile formula that can be used in other research studies.

Some people speculate that Collins knew very well what her drug was doing and that the public, especially the poor, homeless, and Newcomers, were simply her guinea pigs. Others believe that SERO had a hand in it all along, as she was a Hillsdale student. None of these allegations have come up with any concrete evidence, however.

- SERO Announces Success With Short-Range Teleportation Pads
A recent consumer report has a brief spotlight on the latest developments in SERO technology, a “single rider” cubicle system which can teleport anyone onto a series of corresponding pads within a half mile’s radius. After additional testing and cost-efficiency in production, SERO plans to have these on the market by January, but installed within their major facilities for easy after-darkness transport between its main laboratories and offices by the end of November.
