Assuming we're talking something closer to the former case, that still leaves which part of the industry and whether the person is emotionally suited for the job they're working in. Some people are emotionally suited for being sex workers without harming their self-worth. Others are not. And it depends on the specific profession - more people are emotionally suited to display their body for money than to have sex for money, for example.
