( at first, there is just the slow and consistent sound of steel scraping against the earth in a mechanical fashion. then, after a moment, a woman’s voice begins speaking. she sounds calm, composed, her accent only a trace of a lilt on some words. it’s fairly hard to pick up the annoyance that would be visible on her face if this wasn’t audio. )
It seems like the popular course of action here is to flail around until someone provides information. While I’m sure that provides no end of entertainment for the rest of you, I’d prefer to skip that portion. Instead, I have really only one query.
You had a purpose, or a task, or a desire, before coming here. A reason to live, so to speak. You can deny it, if you want, but I think it’s safe to say everyone has something of that sort. And now, I ask, does being here change that? And if so, how do you deal with it?
( another small huff, halfway between amusement and annoyance. and then the audio cuts. )
