[Oh. When Dean appears on the accidental video, Castiel is transfixed, surprised; he hadn't known the hunter was here. How long had he been? Did he know Sam was here too? Surely he did; Mary would have been the link even if the boys hadn't found each other.

And a flash of irritation; no one bothered to inform him? Not Mary's fault, but Sam could've sent him a message. As if he needs any more reason to be angry with the younger Winchester. But that can wait.]

Fine, Dean.

[He's agreeing just to get Dean to meet with him; he'll still dodge whatever inquiries he feels like, though he does intend to explain most everything. Just not the inevitable question about the bandage on the side of his neck, which he's been hiding at the feed angle.]

[Wait, what? This was around the time that Cas would rip into him for being disrespectful of angelic power etc. etc. So give him a second to just absorb this sudden agreeableness.]

... That's it? Just "fine?" ... Dude, what the hell happened to you? I mean, your wings are M.I.A. and now you're just fine with explaining everything?

[He doesn't believe Cas really will just tell him everything because that was just too easy. But he's still going to meet with the guy and try to get what he can out of him.]

[Indeed, it must be quite a change from the time Dean's from; they're on the same tiny, outmatched side. There's little point to hiding much from him anymore, not to mention Castiel really has missed him.]

[He's not sure how knowing each other for over a year has changed much but he does know how much a year can change a person. So he just takes that in stride for now and leaves it as something to bother Cas about tomorrow. He's going to try and make that filter a bit better but since he's still new to this, it's not perfect.]

[He'd gotten back from Chuck's not that long ago and learned enough to make him grab some whiskey on the way home with some of the money he'd earned hustling the other night. It's still hard for him to take it all in, so he's sitting on the couch in his little place nursing a glass of hard liquor. He wasn't sure what he was going to ask Cas once he got there, now that he'd heard so much from the prophet already. But seeing the angel in all his mortal glory would be helpful for his mind to take all that in.]

[Castiel, likewise, isn't sure what he's going to tell Dean when they meet up. But he wants to see his friend, one of the few people he has a connection to and the strongest one of them all, even if it would apparently be one sided. Dean barely knows him. It's a little difficult to take amidst everything else going on.

But as usual, he pushes everything down as he enters the newcomer apartment building, locating the particular one Dean is staying in. Though he normally wouldn't knock, particularly with his abilities, he's pretty certain Dean's door will be locked; therefore he knocks twice on the door, waiting for it to be opened.]

[At the knock, Dean gets up with a sigh, putting the glass on a nearby table and heads to the door. Then he opens it and stands to the side as he does seeing as he already knew who it was.]

... You know on the plus side, without your mojo you've got better timing.

[Seriously, twenty minutes sooner and Dean still would have been at Chuck's, and he didn't make him sit around too long either. Unlike before when Cas would kinda just pop in when he felt like it.]

[He steps in when Dean opens the door, turning slightly to look at his friend. Dean usually looked the same, few visual cues to show that this Dean is nearly two years behind the one he knows, but Castiel's sense for these things is one of the few things remaining amongst the loss of the others.

That's partially what prompts his missed-point response to Dean's comment.]

My sense of and for timing has not changed.

[Matter of factly, like this should be obvious, Dean. Also staring at you now, as usual.]

[He shuts the door and watches Cas watching him as he does so. Then after a moment his gaze shifts a bit to the side with an expression that says "Awkwaard."]

Well, whatever you wanna tell yourself. [He walks back into the room towards Cas, scratching the back of his neck. Then he passes him entirely and goes to pick up his glass of whiskey and turns to face him again.] So I just got back from meeting with the prophet Chuck... He told me how you joined the rest of us sorry saps on the mortal plane.

[The whole thing makes him kinda uncomfortable. An angel falling from heaven to help him. It was insane. He doesn't really know how to continue and just shakes his head a couple times before gulping some more whiskey down.]

[He just watches Dean move around the room, quiet while Dean speaks, nodding slightly at his comment. Oh, so he'd spoken with Chuck; that might make some things easier, depending what all he's been told, and what Sam had filled him in on as well. Dean is so far behind.]

What do you know about the Apocalypse?

[A good place to start, close to where Dean is, and he doesn't know if he's been told about the orchestration on both sides to start it yet or not. He doesn't know if Dean's found out about Sam's demon blood problem. He doesn't know if he's been told about Lucifer yet. So many things that needed to be covered, and he had to figure out what to reveal when, Crowley's warning echoing quietly in his head.]

[He looks down at his mostly-empty glass at that question, going over everything he'd learned in his head. It wasn't everything, but for him it was still a lot to have dumped on his head. He's glad for it, but at the same time he doesn't know where to start telling Cas what he knows... well, the beginning is always good. He looks back up at him.]

Well, for one: I know that those precious little seals we were trying to protect all fell, and your angel buddies had no intention of stopping it.

[He nods slightly, stare still focused intently on Dean. So he knew that much at least.]

Yes. Heaven wanted the Apocalypse to occur as much as Hell did.

[As sickening as that fact still is to him.]

Lucifer was released, and at the point in time Sam and I are from, we are in the process of attempting to trap him once more.

[He nods vaguely at that confirmation, looking off to the side and then takes a couple steps closer. He raises his glass in a mock toast and smirks bitterly.]

Well good luck to future us. [And then he downs the rest of his drink.]

[He tilts his head slightly, watching the mock toast and kind of wanting a glass himself. But at the comment he tilts his head slightly.]

Crowley is from a later point in time than either Sam or I. He claims we win, the Apocalypse is averted, and we all survive.

[Sort of. Castiel himself apparently dies but is resurrected again, but same difference, and the demon was leaving out details unbeknownst to Castiel.]
