My place is getting too full for people to crash for long - we might be moving though. If we do, I'll put it up for a bolthole - but I've got a decade of training and combat experience behind me. Also, two of my room mates can fight and can play the hero. Yes, I'm volunteering them. You can ask them later. When I inform them that they ARE helping.

If you mind me saying, I believe you should try to align yourself with Edgeworth, and the assets that he has already organised. There are watched each night to ensure newcomers aren't left outside in the night with the monsters when they arrive - that's my job, amonst many others.

You sound idealistic. Many idealistics start that way, and the lines between lawful and lawlessness become thin in the face of such idealism. What may start out as a desire for a peaceable protection of what you think is right may nurse more vicious undercurrents despite your best interests. By putting in a system of communication amongst strong dissenters, you open up the floor for stronger voices; people who are capable of manipulating others into a force. Look at Hitler.

What starts out as just a right wing thought can gain power if there are routes through which it can be heard, that's all. I'm not saying it's a bad idea to look after 'our own', I'm merely suggesting that you cannot always hope for the best in all the people around you ( ... )

I don't know who Hitler is...but I see your point, and it's not the first time it's been made to me. It just...upsets me when anyone attacks, murders or otherwise oppresses anyone else. I don't want to make this into more of a problem, but I -do- want to ensure people are protected and the criminals are caught.

And...you're right again. I'll calm down. I'm not trying to incite a riot, I just want to pierce some of the apathy. A lot of people claim to have a good way of doing it, but aren't sharing due to trust. It's...frustrating.

Then you'll know that, being a police officer, I cannot use my position as a tool to exert pressure on others. I'm afraid I can't 'offer you the help of the police force', though I would like to. It's not my call.

The best way to see that justice is done is to volunteer information to the authorities. Make it so it cannot be ignored, so it can't be conveniently 'lost', but don't make yourself official enemies, otherwise it will put us all in more danger still.

As for apathy, you probably know better than I do that finding people who share your opinions and are ready to die for them is different. It isn't the nature of people to be openly confrontational, or to speak out loud when there is an element of fear preventing them.

Oh no no! I'd never ask you to use your position like that. But having someone we know who is also an officer means we have an easy access to official channels. If we report to you, you report it up right?

What kind of information do you need from us to give to the authorities? Specifics I mean. The news is reporting, but I've no idea how involved the local police are or aren't.
