[ While she has not lived in the boarding-house long, and she has yet to memorise the exact tones of her housemates' voices, this face is familiar enough to her that Chane would recognise it, small and wailing as it is. Immediately the whole post, from the second line, throws her-- she jolts and has to quickly cross out her mistakes on the page before she can reply, blinking and checking the wobbling pattern of bricks behind the child's head. ]
[There's a long and frightened pause before Rin sounds out the content of Chane's text carefully, out loud. She remembers knowing how to do this easily but she's too scared to fall back into the reflex of reading again.]

[ As Rin repeats the words back at her, she thinks of that child she had saved before; how she had brought her to the ones who planned to kill her, against both of their wills; she frowns, shuts her eyes briefly to dispel the images and think, only to open them and press her pen against paper a tad too strongly for simple writing. ]
Rin. Get indoors, quickly.
[ More than anything, she is worried for her precious housemate. ]
I dunno - there's all these grown-ups around - [Even as a child, Rin has enough sense not to let any old stranger take her somewhere.] I don't want to go with them-!
Any landmarks? Any things that I ought to look for as I wander the city in search of a tiny version of you? You will be difficult to spot, I assume, but I've always enjoyed a challenge.
And keep your hair on, would you, you aren't lost forever.
[She takes a few minutes to sound out his words, stammering a little. She's learning, but this is too disturbing for the skill to come easy - and when she figures it out she doesn't answer his question anyway. She's a bit out of her head at the moment, which might excuse her question:]
[All of these people who know her! It's quite overwhelming, for a little girl still trying to make sense of what just happened to her and where she is.]
