[First, blackness- the feed is pointed out her window, towards the sky. A few stars are visible off in the distance. After a few seconds of this, the video turns back towards a familiar redhead. There is a duck on her lap that she's petting absentmindedly.]I'm really glad that red rain stuff stopped yesterday... I didn't go out at all, but it still ( Read more... )

I wonder how it happened in the first place!

I don't think it was really blood, but I wasn't out in it, so I dunno for sure. I really hope it wasn't.

It actually can be real pretty here at night if you get away from all the ambient light of the crowded areas. I've been out at night like that a few times. It's really too bad more people can't get out and appreciate it.

I really hope so, too! They said it wasn't on the news, at least.

You go out after dark a lot? You gotta make sure to be careful!

Oh, not really a lot, no. [More than he's willing to let on, though. Hey, people need help, okay?] Just sometimes. I can handle monsters if they're out there, but I do try to be really careful. Thanks, though.

[There's a tiny bit of movement at his side, if Ahiru is observant enough to notice. But it's not clear what it is.]

[She notices, blinking, but doesn't say anything about it. The duck quacks.]

What's it like out there, when you do go? [As if she doesn't know, but- secrets, secrets.]

You should be a greeter official, Ahiru! You do a good job at it.

Oh, I don't know about that! I wouldn't know what to do if someone was really angry or started crying, for starters.

You'd probably just be really nice to them.

But what if that wasn't enough? Some people get really sad about being here at first, and I'd feel really bad if I couldn't do anything to help.

I like to think that it's the same sky as back home. It probably isn't scientifically possible, but it's nice to think about.

Yeah... Even though time doesn't really pass back home while we're here, it'd be nice to think that our friends were looking at the same sky we were. Maybe we'd be thinking of each other at the same time.

I don't think there's anything wrong with believing that. Is there anyone in particular you're thinking about?

Pique and Lilie! And... And someone named Rue, too. They're my best friends from back home! Well, at least the ones that aren't here.

What about you, Kurt?
